With the fast development of society, technology and science, education is nowadays put in an important position more than ever before. Whether the only way to make education be truly effective is designing it to meet the individual needs and interests of each student, as [the] speaker asserts? However, close scrutiny; firstly what are the primary purposes of education should be clear understood. Then what is the standard of weighing the effective education is also need further discuss. Moreover, it might be not the only way.
Schools, as the important places for instructing education, can tell some of the purposes of education which might be teaching knowledge, communication, and self-improvement. Facts inform us that from the moment we enter the kindergarten, our teachers began to instruct different but useful knowledge whether it is literature, mathematics, physics and so forth. We accept and make later use [of] them to address diverse things facing to us. Our learning various kinds of knowledge is just likes a sponge immerging into water, absorb quickly and make use of them to the practical world.In the process of learning, we get touch with diverse people which might be sometime different race, various ethnic groups, or even diverse countries. Thus we are offered the opportunity to learn how to communicate well with others, which without doubt is also a kind of education. As the time we spend in schools-kindergarten, primary school, middle school and then ultimately universities or colleges- we get more self-improvement which also is [is also] the purpose of education. Therefore, we clearly understand now what education finally addresses.
After having insight cognition of the aims of education, we can get further to how to make it effective. Since the standard of effective is on an individual basis. Different people have diverse opinions of what they think is effective education. When it comes to students, they, undoubtedly, think that the most effective education is designing [designed] for meeting their individual needs and interests of each one. But when it comes to parents, they hope the education can instruct everything their children want and need to know besides teaching them something about moral, manners and other essence when one is in a society. In addition,when it turns to the societies, the effective education should provide diverse people who have some skill to satisfy their demands。Therefore, consider all foregoing factors, it is difficult in set a standard which measure the effectiveness of education.
When it finally comes to the discussion of the way to make education effective, it is easier to illustrate this issue on the basics of what have already mentioned above. Although to meet the needs and ineterests [interests] of individual is crucial and also nessary [necessary] foe [for] education. Since students are usually lacking [in] such ability to choose his own curriculum reasonable and useful by the only purpose of meeting their own desire. A certain advisor for each student therefore is quite necessary whoknow well how to meet each student's need and meanwhile how to make each curriculum useful and suitable for meeting the needs of society. After all, all these students will, or have already, be in societies. Therefore we should not overlook other ways to make education effective. Such as [to] meet the need of communities and insctruct [to instruct] people well to serve the societies. Further more, insctructing [instructing] some certain basic subjects well to students and therefore giving them the essential tools to explore the ocean of knowledge is also a way to effective education. The better education serves, whether to students, parents or communities, the more effective of it.
To sum up, it is of no doubt importance to make education meet the needs and interests of students. There are still others which need education to meet. [There are still other demands that education should meet.] Before we make a conclusion of whether it is effective education or not, we should list out the purposes, the standards and other aspects that measure the effectiveness of education. |
