Situation:
Airbus is a leading aircraft manufacturer whose customer focus, commercial know-how, technological leadership and manufacturing efficiency have propelled it to the forefront of the industry. With a turnover of slightly over 20 billion euros in 2004, Airbus today consistently captures half of all commercial airliner orders. The company also continues to broaden its scope and product range by applying its expertise to the military market.
Headquartered in Toulouse, France, Airbus is jointly owned by EADS (80%) and BAE Systems (20%). It is a truly global enterprise of some 52,000 employees, with fully-owned subsidiaries in the United States, China and Japan, spare parts centres in Hamburg, Frankfurt, Washington, Beijing, and Singapore, training centres in Toulouse, Miami, Hamburg and Beijing and 130 field service offices around the world. Airbus also relies on industrial co-operation and partnerships with major companies all over the word, and a network of some 1,500 suppliers in 30 countries.
In the framework of its industrial partnerships, Airbus is significantly increasing its investment and facilities in China, especially by creating the Engineering Centre of Airbus in China (ECAC), which will be located in Beijing. The role of the ECAC will be to perform specific design work on the Airbus A350 and beyond, as well as supporting other industrial co-operations which exist since many years, especially with AVICI and AVICII.
In 2005, ECAC will employ minimum 50 engineers, growing to more than 200 in 2008. The employees of the creation period in 2005 are expected to take key roles in the further development and act as coaches of the later recruited employees. A number of experienced engineers from AVIC will join ECAC, as agreed with AVIC. The here-defined candidates need to be recruited from the employment market in China (excluding AVIC1).
Training
All ECAC engineers will be trained during 9 months at Airbus facilities in Europe
3 months in Toulouse
6 months, depending on the profile, in Toulouse, Hamburg or Getafe/Madrid
System Installation Engineer - Graduates
Summary of job duties and responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAJOR END RESULTS
To implement all specifics related to system installation design in an accurate, timely and quality manner
Main Activities:
In relation with the System Installation team leader, the System Installation Engineer is in charge of the design system installation work package:
• Models parts according to design principles in digital mock up environment
• Models of assembly in digital mock up environment
• Builds up schedule list in PDM (Product Data Management) system
• Inputs all configuration management data in PDM system
• Applies the right protection of parts in PDM system
• Achieves manufacturing drawing in the respect of typical drawing and drawing know-how
• Includes request dimensions on drawing
• Includes all necessary note on drawing
Major problems to be solved in the position:
• To prioritize tasks in a challenging situation with short notice target dates
• To comply with procedures & ways of working of Airbus
Experience/qualifications requirements:
• Excellent education, Masters/ Bachelor degree
• International experience/double degree is an advantage
• Outstanding individual performance
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
• Highly motivated to work on technical innovations
• Highly motivated to learn and work in an international environment
• Medium level of English language competence (BULATS level 3)

Composite Structure Engineer - Graduates
Summary of job duties and responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAJOR END RESULTS
To implement all specifics related to composite structure design in an accurate, timely and quality manner
The main activities:
The Composite Structure Engineer is in charge of the tasks given by the Composite Structure Team Leader of the appropriate project:
• Uses the 3D engineering software, PDM systems, databases, text redactors, electronic tables and other software necessary for work fulfilment.
• Implements his/her work as per AIRBUS rules, standards and Requirements of ECAC internal procedures and instructions.
• Enters initial data for 3D modelling preparation.
• Uses the PDM system to determine all parts and assemblies related to the system, assembly or manufacturing serial number of an aircraft.
• Develops 3D models and/or assemblies as per existing 2D electronic or paper drawings, wires frames and legal standards.
• Develops specific design procedures
• Develops and/or modifies manufacturing, assembly and/or system installation drawings.
• Develops and/or modifies the part lists, engineering change notes and associated information by the relevant PDM system.
• Participates in training as per the project requirements.
• Designs principles for composite structure design development and design principles drawings achievement.
• Develops Space allocation Mock Up and parts Conception.
• Develops details and assemblies as per Conception or Space allocation Mock Up.
• Fulfils parts preliminary calculations and pre-sizes the design with specific software or manually.
• Checks her/ his own work and (if required) work of the other designers as per AIRBUS rules, standards and Requirements of ECAC internal procedures and instructions.
• Provides all data related to the project for the Project Leader.
• Takes part in weekly reviews conducted by the Project Leader, which are aimed at working process monitoring.

Stress Engineer - Graduates
Summary of job duties and responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITIES / MAJOR END RESULTS
To implement all specifics related to stress design in an accurate, timely and quality manner
Main Activities:
• Determinates the structural integrity based on ultimate loads, limit loads and fatigue allowable stresses.
• Checks the Stress deliverables in accordance with the AIRBUS rules, normative documentation and ECAC internal requirements.
• Assess the failure modes such as creep, buckling and crippling.
• Uses the following AIRBUS approved analysis tools and methods: classical formula based calculations and finite element tools (e.g. PATRAN/NASTRAN, ISSY etc.)
• Prepares the Stress Sheets to support Definition Dossier.
• Prepares the Certification Reports
• Updates the SDRB updating.
• Take part in developing calculation methods, procedures and checklists.
• On Stress Leader's request takes part in crosschecking of provided models, results and deliverables.
• In case of any misunderstandings or disagreement with revealed nonconformities submits this information to Project/Stress Leader for solving.
• Collects the statistical data on his/her deliverables and revealed nonconformities.
• Provides Project and Stress Leader with information about new deliverables, prepared during his stress activity, to be numbered according to ECAC numbering system, notified through Delivery Memo to the Customer and put to the corresponding archive.
• Takes part in weekly reviews conducted by Project Leader, which are aimed at working process monitoring.
• Provides Project and Stress Leader with monthly reports on the stress deliverables and time spent for different stress activities.
• Provides Project and/or Stress Leader with suggestions to improve working process, applicable stress procedures and methods.
