The speaker asserts that all nations should build a global university designed to help students solve the world's most persistent social problems. I agree that such a global university should be built to solve some problems, however, I strongly disagree with the speaker that most persistent social problems can be solved by the establishment of such a school whose role plays in solving some limited persistent problems.

Admittedly, there are numbers of persistent social or even global problems should be resolved by collective powers of nations all over the world with the help of the global university. For example, striking international crimes, reinforcing poor African countries, researching global incurable diseases such as AIDS, cancers and so on. Those problems exist internationally, so they must be resolved by international communities. And just by striving of sole one or a few countries cannot solve such global problems. Therefore, to support the development of such a global school, and then by whose students' common efforts and skills, several world's most persistent social problems could be settled.

However, there is a doubt that this global university is capable of solving all the world's most persistent social problems. As the world has yet a great deal of stubborn and tough problems, even though many nations come together to settle them, not to mention such a school. We can learn from a concrete example of many problems created by the Internet, by the advent of which, people can now access to nearly all the information all over the world. While, at the same time, tremendous ill and harmful information filled with the Internet that are available as well as good ones. Children are the most vulnerable groups who should be protected and kept away from those unhealthy information which teem with violation and eroticism. Nevertheless, we cannot prevent all the origins of bad information from transmitting for the reason that people all over the world may be the one to creates and spreads information. The most important point is that those deed may be banned under law in one country while considered as lawful in another country for the purpose of diverse social environments and cultures in different countries.  Even if a global university to be built, where students are neither capable nor powerful of amending or abolishing the law in those countries and hence those ill information would still be spread into every corner of the world. Consequently, there must not be a fantasy for many countries that such a global university would enable us to clear out all the world's persistent social problems.

In addition, when some tough social problems related to countries' dominations they should be resolved only by their own. For instance, although it exists all over the world, discriminations against black race in the US may be the her most persistent social problems that can be dated back several hundreds of years in American history. Moreover, only through striving by her own power can those discriminations be resolved for the reason that this problem is American interior with which cannot be interfered by others. What is more, there are a myriad  of social problems of countries that cannot be disturbed by others, such as the return of Taiwan, coup d'etat in many Eastern Europe countries and human rights in sovereignty Yugoslavia and so on. Those are world's most stubborn problems, meanwhile, they are those countries' civil social problem and interiors which are persistent though,with which must not be intervened by other for the interior of every country is a sacrosanctity. Therefore, those each country's own social problems should be solved by its own without the help of other ones and global university.

Finally, it is pressing for international societies to help support the development of a global university to solve several world's most persistent social problems, however, we should not ignore that such school is not a heal-all and amount of social problems must be resolved by every country's own.

我的那篇文章对world social problem 的理解可能有点问题。我把nuclear weapon和环境问题归为社会问题了，我现在的理解是：社会问题应该是毒品问题、贫穷问题、难民问题、AIDS等流行病，我想恐怖主义也应该是社会问题吧？我的文章例子可能举错了。

下面是我的意见。我感觉你的论证有点发散，可能偏了题。

The speaker asserts that or the purpose of solving the world's most lasting social problem, the establishment of a global university by all nations is planned to cultivate some students to meet the interests. In my opinion, regardless of the feasibility of the conception, I agree that this university be designed to make the effect reflects the tendency of the advancement of the society and technology.
In the first place, with the development of the globalization, cooperation with countries accelerate by leaps and bounds. Thus, founding a global university to solve the persistent social problems is inevitable, according to the tendency of the world today. Universal cooperation has produced much more contributions to the advancement of the world. Because some social problem has persist for a long time , one nation could not address it well on its own. Therefore, the cooperation among nations might provide a effective method to the stubborn disease. The head of Computer Science at Beijing University once said (and I paraphrase) that "Computer can not succeed without other fields". Recently computer science research is increasingly related with much more other disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, biology, linguistics, and even psychology, in the applications of biochip, voice recognition, artificial intelligence and so on. When it comes to world's most stubborn social problem, it is the same. In short, cooperation plays a considerable part in the process of the global events.
In addition, the world's most persistent social problems are related to all nations, so such a university will benefit the whole world, and it is the obligation of all nations to help support the development of a global university. Consider desertification, deforestation, water pollution depletion of ozone layer, especially green house effect. The phenomenon is mainly caused by the presence of carbonic oxide, which allows the sunlight pass through but absorb heat radiated back from the earth's surface and thus the temperature of the earth increases. To solve the problem, nowadays, a total of one hundred and forty one countries have ratified the Kyoto Protocol, agreement which reaffirms sections of the UNFCCC. On Feb.,16th, 2005, Kyoto Protocol came into full force, which not only means human make another progress in protecting the earth, our home, but also indicate the victory of the effort made by all nations. There by, supporting the development of a global university is another responsibility for all nations.
Admittedly, a global university will benefit the whole world. However, it has a large amount of knottiness. Firstly, one country is different with another country in some aspects such as geography, economy, and culture. All these differences may cause the problem much more complicated. Secondly, whether the project will work is still unknown to us. May be the project from the good will ultimately produce negative effect. In that case , we must treat the problem with care.
In sum, from what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that all nations should help support the development of a global university in order put the student to course of solving the most knotty problem in the world.
