How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society.

As Franklin Roosevelt put it "We cannot always built the future for our youth, but we can built the youth for the future". Children are regarded as the hope of the future, the future of our world. In other words, how the children are being socialized today is a sigh of how our society being tomorrow. Therefore, having realized this point, the society has reason to better foster our children for the whole world's destiny. However, although we have realized the significance and our education did do some contribution in cultivating the children, there still exists several problems in education in the contemporary society.

To begin with, the children are worth paying special attention to be socialized for the sake of our destiny of society hence one of the main purposes of education should be imparting the children with the ability of how to survive in the society. Morally speaking, we are benefit a lot from our ancestors, who pass the experience, the ethical standard, and surviving skills to us. Also we should do some contribution to our youth and our offspring. And that is the merit of human beings. Now the best we can offer them is the ability to adopt the society, to understand the law of surviving in the more and more complex society. In addition, in the technology-advanced society, one can hardly keep pace with the development of the technology and science without enough information and continuous learning, so does our youth. Thereby, they should accept education and learn knowledge as early as possible.

As having noticed that one aim of education is to socialize children, the professional educators do have focused on it. For example, in the development country and most of the developing countries, almost every child has the opportunity to accept the primary and secondary education. Thus, they could have a basic ability to read to write and to learn, gain a fundamental knowledge of the society, of the world we living. More and more youth now can be admitted to the college and university to further study, there they are taught more specialized knowledge so that they will be easier to get a better job in the society and therefore sustain their surviving. In thus case, we would have to acknowledge that our education system have done enough to infuse the youth with the basic learning ability.

However, as we mentioned before, the responsibility of education are not only indoctrinate children the elementary knowledge, but also socialized the children which, in my point of view, consists of the ability to critical thinking, the ability to cooperate with others, and most important, the ability to familiar with and acclimatize themselves to the society. Yet in these aspects, obviously, our educators haven't done enough. First, most of the students are being taught to memorize the knowledge, especially of the history and philosophy passively thereby their critical thinking seems unwanted. Second in today's society, we pay too much emphasize on competition to accept cooperation as well and therefore, the youth tends to be more egoistic, more pride, which is detrimental in their later life in the society. What's more important, our education are isolated from the real world, that is to say, the children are encouraged to learn the knowledge instead of get themselves practiced in the society. Thus they have little experience and what they have learned, to some extent, seem scant to their later life.

All in all, children is the hope of the world tomorrow, it is reasonable to well educate them. However, the educators should not only give them the basic knowledge, but also socialize them, the ultimate aim of education should always be to propel the pace of society and make it more convenient. After all the old leaves us a glorious past, yet the splendid future are waiting the youth to create.

All in all, children is the hope of the world tomorrow, it is reasonable to well educate them.
