The speaker asserts that the only responsibility of corporate executives is to maximize the company’s profits within the bounds of the laws. While I concede that making money as much as possible is a crucial responsibility of corporate executives, but not the only one. As is known that the reputation of the company, the salary or insurance of the employees and so the forth are all the key responsibility of the executives as well as profit maximization.

Admittedly, making money as much as possible is an important part of responsibility of corporate executives. The basic purpose of company is to let the shareholders earn more money. Business history informs us that every corporation is maximizing its profits at all times. From Bill Gates’ Microsoft to Michael Dell’s Dell, the executives are always busy making as much money as they can to satisfy the shareholders as well the employees. With no doubt, if a company earn less money than before or even lose money in business, the CEO will face a problem of being fired immediately and none explanation will work, no matter whether the CEO has made great contributions to the corporation ever before. As a result, the executives of the company are always hardworking for fear that they would lay off.

However, beyond the profit maximization, the salary of the employees is also a crucial point to deal with for the executives. Most people working to live care a lot about what the company gives to them. In today’s society, rapid changes increase life complexity and psychological displacement, resulting in that people at all times are indulged in making money to feed the family, to offer the fees of houses and so the forth. So if the executives could give the employees well treatments, the employees will do much better for the prosperity of the company. Markedly, the treatment of the employees is a fundamental part for the executive to consider as well as the profit maximization, because the employees make the company.

Needless to say, the reputation is also a key responsibility for the managers. Obviously, the company does not work for one day, but would survive as long as it could. So the satisfaction of the customers is tremendously important. As a result, we can better understand why Pepsi Cola invites many football players to advertise for the company and why NIKE hire NBA stars to be their mouthpieces. The advertisement is just to attract the costumers while the quality of the goods represents the company. When we want to buy a laptop, we first think of IBM; when we intend to afford a car, we first consider Mercedes Benz. Believe it or not, a customer first consider the brand when they buy things.

In sum, profit maximization is a crucial part of the executives but the speaker ignores that the treatment, the reputation and so on are all tremendously important in order to make the company prosperous thus satisfy the shareholders and the employees.

结构比较完整,观点还有提升的空间,文章写得很清晰,不知道你什么时候考,50min完成很不错:)我快考了,没什么时间跑来上网,不能细改,还请海涵!可以把视角放宽些,大些,比如社区,环境。。。
