Education encourages students to question and criticize, and therefore does little to promote social harmony.

Nowadays, the issue of  the problem that whether education would do harm to the social harmony due to its spirit of questioning and criticizing placing on students has aroused public concern, over which fierce debate takes place. As far as I am concern, though education calls for the spirit of questioning and criticizing, we cannot judge that it does little to the promotion of social harmony in an unwarranted way.
The purpose of education is to replace an empty mind with the one can learn by itself. By this main purpose of education, there is no escaping the fact that education holds the responsibility to instill to students with the knowledge of physical science and social science, with the ability to dealing with any encountering affair, with the ability to distinguish from good to bad and from right to wrong, as well as the spirit of questioning and criticizing. Only through education of all aspects, students can be trained as a matural and lettered grow-up in the society.
However, the process of education can also be treat as the process of learning and questioning, both of which straightly point to the essence of education. On one hand, from learning, students requires knowledge telling by their teachers or already being printed in their books, through which they see the crystal, of great value, of their ancestors systemized from ages' study and research. At the same time, students raise their questions to get more comprehension. On another one, when students question and obtain the answers to them, they may learn more related to the subject they study. These two facets on a balance are of great importance to the procedure of education, and more, questioning, as the key to the efficiency of education, as well as criticizing, cannot be neglected loosely. Because the former theories may be of many fallacies which have not been examined by people and it is highly possible that more scrutiny to be done to perfect the theories. If students never think of the possible flaws the theories may suffer from, there cannot be unprecedented theories anymore. Besides, as with the development of the science and technology at a flying speed, many theories are not suitable enough for current application, and then, it is students that modify this trend to make it still valuable.
In addition, we can consider the process of questioning as the reconstruction to the system of human knowledge that is already there. Waving the banner of questioning and criticizing helps to erase the possible flaws of the former theories and improve the theories on some sense and more, create new ideas to set up related theory as well. There is an ancient statement of Chinese that the ground of the earth is square while the sky is a semi sphere, consider if none question towards it arises, it is impossible for us to see explicitly what is the earth like, let alone the exploration to the universe. Therefore, the spirit of questioning and criticizing does accelerate advancement of the society.
As education indoctrinates students with the ability to communication, and the idea of understanding and respecting, the contention on the scientific level would not set a bad influence on the harmony of the society. When expressing their own perspectives, respecting other's opinions is supposed to be the accountability of students, which may stick up to the whole harmonious sphere of the society.
From what has been discussed above, we can leave no worry to the speaker's assertion. Furthermore, better questioning and criticizing on a problem will not only do good to students' learning, but also refresh the ideas in science to keep it always alive.
