"There is no such thing as purely objective observation. All observation is subjective; it is always guided by the observer's expectations or desires."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
outline:
1. 没有绝对客观的观察
2不是所有的观察都是主观的,要分情况讨论
科学界的理论和定律在一定的条件下可以看作是客观的
艺术和社会领域的观察主观性比较
3. 这两个方面对人类社会的进步都起到了作用
The observation is beginning as soon as a person comes to the world and open his or her eyes, and it never stop till the death. In the whole of our life, we are observing and observed in the world. That is to say, the observation is one of the most important things for us.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing as purely objective observation in the reality. It is clearly that the observation is influence by the observer's subjective feeling more or less. Take a simple example, there is a beautiful rose with stings in the garden, one person maybe say the rose with stings is so beautiful, another person maybe says the beautiful rose has so many stings. Because different observers have the different education and family background, current feeling, native culture, and individual experience, which will influence their conclusion after observing the same thing. Even the same person observes the same thing would make the different observation result in his or her different period. In the childhood, a person maybe feel the tree was too big to be enfolded with arms, after growing up, he or she found that the tree was not so big as before and can be embraced easily. In fact, the tree is not change, just the observer changes. We are not the machine with the constant measurement, but the animated people with ourselves feeling and thoughts, which determine that our observations are affected away the pure objective, even if we try to avoid it.
Even though we admitted that the pure objective observation is not really existing, it does not mean that all observation is subjective. It should be discussed case by case.
In the scientific and technological realm, people can take some measure to adjust and correct the subjective. Especially the scientific theory and law, the subjective result from the observer's is almost diminished so little that it can be omitted. Because any scientific theory and law based on thousands of experiments data and modified many times, at last it can be vilified and applied in every conditions. In the period, different people take apart in and examine the subjective or the flaws of the theory and law, till all of them can accept it as an objective one. So, in that social condition and that specialized realm, the theory and law can be seen as an objective. We do not rule out the possibility that the objective theory and law will become the subjective one in the future with the development of the science and technology.
In the art or social fields, the observation seems more subjective. Different people have the different feeling about the art work, facing the same painting or sculpture, one person maybe appreciates and thinks it is a miraculous in the world, while another maybe regard it as a garbage and worthless at all. And in the art or social fields, there is not a common standard or rule to judge which is wrong and which is right, or to measure which is better and which is worse. All the standards and measure lie in people's heart. Thus, the observation always guided by the observer's expectations or desires, not the real objective.
Just the variety of the observation in the art and social fields, however, rich people's imagine and make people live in a colorful life. Meanwhile, the objective observation in social realm results in the reliable and harmony advancement of the science and technology. Both of them contribute to and promote the development of the human being civilization.
