Nowadays more and more people are beginning to aware of the factor that leadership should be restrained by five years. I strongly agree with this belief, for the reasons as follows.

First of all, the quality and quantity of leaders' knowledge cannot withstand the rapid developed challenge of the whole world. For the increasing change are taking place every minute, leaders’ view and competence may be not enough to solve the new issues. They are brought up in a past value system while the old notions and belief are always occupy their mind and hamper a fresh new idea. This time, the revitalizing should substitute their position and new angles and idea will bring in the profession, then different solution will come into being.

Secondly, long time being at a position makes a person tend to commit empirical mistakes. For instance, Chairman Mao, the greatest leader in China, devoted himself into the liberate revolution and reveal the modern Chinese history. However, in the later national construction programs, he empirically obeys the old theory that is quite fit to wars. No one could suspect the authority of such a great person and people followed him, then the whole country suffered from a serious starving. If he could change his mode to solve new problems or he selects a new one to substitute him, the history may be rewritten.

Thirdly, people tend to lie on the gained fruit and lack of the enterprising spirit and sense of crisis, because of the long term at a leadership position. When the leaders have accomplish some hard goals, the self-satisfaction will somewhat rouse. They may receive praise and plaudit and gain sufficient bonus. High reputation and reward may satisfy the leaders and loose their desire to break though and win in the complex business competition. If the power are not a perpetual privilege and the position will be taken by another person, the utmost instinct will evoke and the leader will brush aside all the plague and block to build up new accomplishment. In American, the selection system rule the period for president to occupy the position. In this case, candidates always promise some public boon and some correct policy to gain the credit of the citizens. And therefore, the leaders concern more public issues and their promises. The power will be utilized in a proper way.

In sum, five years is long enough to provide for a leader to perform. More time will cause the harmful effect and revitalization should trough the leadership to fresh it every now and then, thus the success will be assured.(432,40min)
