29.When Ida McAllister ran for mayor of Lake City four years ago, she failed to win even 30 percent of the vote. But since then, McAllister has made public her commitment to environmental causes. She would be wise, therefore, to announce her intention to close all Lake City parks to automobile traffic, thus following the example of the former mayor of Plainsville, Alecia Yu . On the recommendation of a small group of concerned citizens, Mayor Yu prohibited automobile traffic in all Plainsville parks, and therefore was credited with solving the pollution problem and improving the quality of life in Plainsville. This action would have great appeal to the citizens of Lake City, most of whom participate in the community's recycling program, and would guarantee McAllister's success in her current quest to be Lake City's new mayor.

In this argument, the author asserted that the candidate Ida McAllister would win the support from citizens in the new mayor’s election by carrying out the recycling program in Lake City. To substantiate the conclusion, the author cites the example of Alecia Yu, a mayor of Plainsville, who has won the reputation after solving the pollution problem in their city. However, as it stands, I still figure out several fallacies containing in this argument.

First of all, it is possible that other factors may have contributed to the election failure except for environmental causes. Maybe four years ago, McAllister was a newer appeared in the election that all the voters were not familiar with. As we all know, voting behavior is always based on the acknowledge and familiarity of a candidate, then how can we easily believe such a brat to be a wise and successful leader? Given people has known some fame of her four years ago already, it is presumptuous to say that her neglect of environmental problems resulted to her failure in the election. Totally possible that other reasons like false strategy in conducting education, employment system or even industrial structure finally rendered the failure. Moreover, if she is such an arrogant lady or always makes bombast, which is relevant to her personality, people won’t vote for her as well.

Even if McAllister ‘s failure was because of neglecting environmental problem, another threshold problem is that the argument is based on a false analogy. It is true that Alecia Yu who had been deeply credited by solving the pollution problem and improving the quality of life, but there is no guarantee the measures carried out in Plainsville will work as well for Lake City. These are two different cities in many aspects, each suffers from different problems, it is definitely possible that Lake city has no obstacles in automobile traffic things which don’t need to put focus on.

If we admit that pollution problem does exist in Lake City, the other logical error that will show the arguer’s superficiality. Even though citizens will voluntarily participate the recycling program, there’s still no evidence to substantiate that McAllister will be sure to win the success in her current quest to be Lake City's new mayor. In my view, a correlation between these two aspects doesn’t establish a causal relationship. Out of love for their hometown, citizens will participate those actions benefiting it. As for the election, most citizens will deliberate rationally, assess the candidate based on her overall performance, and vote for the one they really like and believe.

In summary, the argument is no so persuasive in many aspects. To make it more convincing, the arguer would have to provide detailed reasons about McAllister’s first failure. And also, we should know whether Lake City has the same environmental problems as Plainsville does. 三段感觉论证的不是很充分，而且这段更好写一些， 比如解决不再公园停车是不是就能解决污染，因为污染是多方面的，并且不在公园停车也会在其他地方停车，说不定还阻碍的交通，或者由于停车不方便带来人们更多的抱怨 等等。

总体感觉主要错误都找到了而且论证的很不错，赞！！
