In the statement, the arguer claims: "The way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. You can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people ". In my point of view, I tend to believe that we indeed can learn a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people, but it is only part of the society's ideas and values that can be learn by this way.
Firstly, people's attitudes and interests usually are expressed by the way they look, dress, and act. It is well know(known) that everyone has his or her own preference and wants to express this preference. Which way will one choose to do so? It is highly possible that he or she will look different things in different ways, and dress the most preferred costume indicating his or her attitudes and interests. For example, if a boy finds out a beautiful girl, he maybe stares at her for long time. Then, he may dress something that he thinks that the dress are popular or make him more appealing这句有问题吧in order to show (the girl)去掉 that he is a handsome boy. Of course, these are not all story. Perhaps the boy will continue to do something in order to indicate that he is clever, has a brilliant future, and he loveloves her which is probably far more important than other things. The example illustrates that the way one looks, dresses, and acts indeed reveals hisattitudes and interests.
Secondly, people's attitudes and interests may indicate the society's ideas and values on some cases. To some extent, ideas and values of a society is that of the mass in it. On some cases ideas and values have the same or similar meanings as attitudes and interests. Supposed that there is a society whose people think that they need to take some measures to reform the society, we may draw a conclusion that reformation represents the society's idea.
Admittedly, part of society's ideas and values can not be observed through the above way. After all, part of society' ideas and values are unable to be indicated in people's daily appearances and behaviors. Furthermore, even if people are interestinginterested to something, it is possible that their behaviors do not represent the society's value on the problem. Many people are curious to other's privacies but individual's privacy should be protected is still our society' value.
In sum, the appearance and behavior of people in one society does reveal some of the society' ideas and values. However, there is still part of society's ideas and values that can not be revealed by them.
先提个建议,希望以后先自己或者用word改一下简单的错误,自己写的时候也要注意
结构上没有什么问题,不过是不是可以第三段后把上面的论证过程总结一下look, dress, and act----attitudes and interests -----the society's ideas and values
小弟拙见,我也刚准备,多写写就好了
