Issue38 ★无敌拍场★ 欢迎拍砖,必回拍
Issue38 In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books.
Words: 480
Outline:
1. Books cover more information than television.
2. Reading is a helpful method to learn.
3. Admittedly, television can also help us learn knowledge.
Overwhelmingly influenced by booming[形容词可以这样用么?] of the mass medias, what television can teach us is much more than before. We cannot, however, reach the conclusion that knowledge obtained by watching television equals that gained by reading books as the author did. As the a[这两个连在一起是什么用法阿?] traditional way of learning, reading books still plays an indispensable role and cannot be caught up by the method of watching television. In the following discussion, I would like to present evidence to support my standpoint.[简要的说明了自己的观点,赞一个先!^^]
First of all, books cover much more knowledge than televisions do. As everyone known[s?], many 把看television programs are based[不需要被动吧?] on books. Among other illustrations of its truth which might be cited, history relevant programs will furnish a cogent example. It is no doubted[是不是不用ed?] that nearly all the records and experiences happening when the technology didn't well develop were preserved by writing, and that is why programs about history must depend on books. Besides the information television relying on, books also include knowledge televisions cannot express successfully. An example of this is individuals' own thoughts and emotions. You can never understand Sophie's real thought until reading "Sophie's world", and the same, we can hardly know Hitler's thoughts about foreign policy unless we don't read his autobiography - "Mein Kampf"[是否逻辑有点问题?否定多了一个吧?]. In a word, the capacity of books is bigger than that of televisions.
In addition, compared with watching television, reading books has more benefits on learning. First, we can manage the content of our studying, which allow us choose what we are interested or helpful for our works. Take my own life as an example. Whenever I find questions about my major, I can always find a reference book in our library. But if you attempt to find answers from television, you will be greatly disappointed in most of the time[这个例子很好呢我觉得,真棒!]. Besides, reading books can help us save time. Watching televisions is a passive way of learning because we cannot determine which part of a program should be emphasized and which one should be omitted. But reading is a much more initiative process for us. We can select our own rhythms depending on our various habits and tastes and then reach a better understanding of the knowledge. So we should never neglect this kind of study method.[这段我觉得不错呢,例子能说明问题而且来源于自己生活,很棒啊写的]
Admittedly, we can never deny the importance of television. They can vivid information, and therefore make it easy to accept. "Discovery", which is one of my favorite programs, shows us mystery about health, geography, science, animals and some other aspects. The high-quality documentaries attract us studying the unknown information and make the learning easier. So neither can we over-emphasize the significance of televisions or[nor?] ignore their benefits on learning.
In conclusion, nowadays, books are still main source for us to learn and television cannot replace their status. We should recognize the significance of reading books and never quit it. [j
