the original sentence correctly uses a singular pronoun, its, to refer to the singular antecedent gyrfalcon , and it properly uses the construction its numbers are...greather than.

then what's the meaning of "numbers "\here.

quantity? or others?
if it's quantity, it should be uncountable.
same as the number of the falcon

我猜是因为泛指的关系，所以用复数吧，毕竟同一种鸟也分好几支的
