When it comes to the effects and influence that television and movies exert on people’s behaviors, some people hold the viewpoints that television and movies have brought too much passive negative influence on people, such as causing people to spend so much time on TV that there’s insufficient communication among people and children become much more apt to violence. However, that’s only part of the story. Another far more important effect TV brought is highly positive. Several factors are presented in the following.
The principle positive factor lies in that TV provides a great deal of opportunities and chances for people to broaden their view sights, increase their knowledge and upgrade their abilities and capacities. As you know, there are many meaningful programs in the aspects of science, technology, education, health, geology and life. People can learn a lot from them. Furthermore, as many programs are so vivid in images, processes and details that they make people be able to learn a great deal in a short period of time.
Second, as there are more and more programs involving families and groups, they result in many chances for families and friends to participate in certain programs cooperatively, which help increase the communication among families and friends. An instance is that the “Lucy 52” and “Happy Dictionary” in CCTV in China, which require families and friends to cooperate effectively in the process.
In summary, although TV and movies have caused some negative results, the positive ones far outweigh the former ones. The key point lie in that we should make a proper use of TV and movies.
