Whether people's look, dress, and act can reveal their attitudes and interests is a controversial and complex problem.  I agree with the speaker insofar as people's appearances and actions can provide some information to us to understand them rather than judge them（鉴别一个人应该就是在了解这个人的基础上把？两者好象不是平行而是相交的观念喔）. The same opinion is as to analyse one society's ideas and values by observing their people. I will support my view by several aspects below.

To begin with, admittedly, to some extent people's extrinsic appearances can tell us something relative with them. As persons' families, occupations, customs and hobbies can all influence their extrinsic appearances such as actions and expressions, on opposite we can just conclude persons（这里的表达需要改写一下） according to these appearances. For example, with more stature trainings and musical edification, dancers are always with graceful actions, so we can pick up the dancers from a huge amount people（这句话也需要改写，pick up the dancers from）. The same as to the police and the armyman, we can judge them for their martial gestures easily. What is more, we also can guess the persons' intrinsic thoughts and notions from what they look. Take thieves as a striking example, after stealing, they begin to go far away the alibi and hide themselves; we can find the thievish expression and actions from them, which are the most important gist for the experienced police to identify them before getting the confirmed evidences. （这一段例子都很common，说服力不够。。而且写的有点散哈，感觉是想到什么就说什么，没有把例子安排主次顺序~~）Hence, people's appearances betray themselves.

However, it is unbelievable （晕，这个词也太主观了，建议不要用）if we only judge a person from his/her appearance. There is an old words in China: "You cannot judge a book by its cover"（呵呵，这里中文是什么阿？~~） , which tells us clearly that appearances cannot represent inside entirely. Although a poor usually wears dirt and tinpot clothes, we cannot say that all people like that are all poors. One example shedding some light on this is the world famous scientist Albert Einstein, who was not care about his appearance at all, and always with dirty long hair and poor clothes, went to a academic lecture and was not permitted to come into the hall, because the gatekeeper judged that he was a irrelevant with the lecture from his looks. At last, the gatekeeper was told that Einstein, just the man with ugly appearance, was the main speaker of that lecture.(恩,爱因斯坦的例子说得很详细) From this example, we can see that it is unsafe when judging a person only by what does he/she look like.

Similarly, as the society and country is composed with persons, we can be told much about its ideas and values by its people's performances and behaviors, however, the information is not the absolute evidence for judging. To make a convincing conclusion about one society and one country, we do not only need a large amount of scientific researches （scientific researches for what？如果你说人口统计什么的，我还可以理解，但是科学研究就真的让我无法理解了。。而且，一个国家或社会，可以被简单地主观定义吗？抛却时间区域，风俗背景，政治环境，等等多方考量，要概括他们是非常主观的事情。）but also need considerable time to prove our ratiocinations. For instance, it is not fair to say that social democracy is a kind of low democracy by the phenomenon that the people from it do not lead a life with the quality as high as in capitalistic country. As the quality of people's life is only one surface factor to evaluate the socialist states, many other aspects such as the extent of people's satisfaction to their life, social welfare and hospitals and physicians for medical care should also be considered..（我不赞同写这样的升华观点，原因如提纲里写的）

To sum up, people's outlooks and behaviors are only one condition which may help us know better about the people and the society, but not the absolute evidence to make judge.

1．人们的衣着除了受个人的意志支配外，还有很多其他因素再导致：比如社会压力，舆论压力，特定角色的限制
2．同样社会的意识形态，人们的心态也只能从社会的潮流中窥见一般，有一些深层的东西社会的价值观，传统观念，还是潜在的影响着人们的行为
这得分不同社会来说：西部国家比较开放，对于多元文化的接纳程度比较高，因此越能从人们的外在表现窥见一个人的价值关
但作为东方的一些国家，文化较为传统，人们情感表达较为含蓄，那么人们的行为能预测其心理的一一致程度就不是很高的。
还有一些国家，受宗教传统等社会习俗的约素较高，人们表达自我的自由不被提倡，但同时这也一方面表象着这个社会的价值观

Does clothing and behavior reveal a person’s attitude and interest? Dose person’s attitude reveals a society’s idea and values? And does people’s appearance and behavior reveal the conception of our society? When we consider the subtly interrelationship of these three, the key vary according to the concrete circumstance.

In public everyone has his or her role to actor, and their real attitude may be cover up when by the public pressure. The politician, actors, personality hardly reveal their really thinking according to their social role. On the job, the superior of one’s position, the less his personal playground is take in. When in the public, the greater the pressure is, the less the saying and doing are agree with their attitude, especially those which are not according to their social roles.

But when we take off the outsider pressure, the attitude and interest may be more easily to agree with their really thinking. Since to pretend and disguise to others calls more psychic energy than to be oneself own and it is the common physiological needs of human nature to express one’s emotion, desire. No matter he or she is introversion or extroversion, always hides ones light under a bushel or likely to conveying ones own feeling, we can always tell something from his or her behavior and look, from a series of related events.

So we can tell a person’s attitude even sometimes they can be disguised by the social pressure, or the character or temperament of someone.

And the same is to the social values. The situation may vary with different circumstance.

In western country, the openness to different culture is higher than the oriental countries. After the Revival of Learning, the acceptant of different social cultures have retained a great extend. So it is more easily to peek the social values from people’s behavior and appearance.

In the oriental countries, like in China, even the society is very open, however, traditional concepts till a strong influence in Chinese life, and people are connotation to express their emotion. So even the people in there are dressed in a fashion and may be very open, however the real social attitude may hide very deep and can not be easily tell from their appearance. If you are a foreign traveler to Chinese, especially when you are in cities, you may think the girl are very open like their dress and behavior, but when you touch more deeply you will see this is a very traditional girl which contradict to they appearance.

But except this we can still tell much about the social values from peoples appearance. Like in the Arabia country, women always need to wear covering that has opening for the eyes, entirely or partly conceals the face when they go outside which can show the women status in that society. Jeans worn especially in the youth reveals the free and rebalance social values.

All in all, we need to obviate the interference factor if we want see some inert attitude by the outside behavior and appearance. Like you should debar the social value or difference personality when you try to see a person’ s attitude from their appearance, and eliminate the cultural condition affecting the nature of an individual before you see the social value from the citizen’ s appearance.

Firstly, the way people dress and behave can show their attitude and interest, as well as their occupation, character and can also whether they are in a good or bad mood their moral status. From the occupation aspect, a while white collar may dress formal suit during their work time in the company showing his decency and the strict attitude toward his work; an artist are always dressing in a particular and exotic way, they may have long hair dressing quite differently from others, which may show their  unparalleled creativity and unique character. Let's get to the character aspect. A strict不能这么用 严肃serious man may dress in an antique way or in unfashionable suit, revealing his reluctance to accept the fashion and some other latest things; a happy girl of elastic temperament would like to dress in bright and brisk colors, which can add her happiness and delight. Besides, when in a bad mood people would not tend to dress themselves deliberately, but when in a good mood, a girl, for instance going to a party would rather spending hours in choosing a dress from her wardrobe. Appearance can also reveals the idea and value of a society. Society is consists of different individuals, thus individuals' thought and idea is actually the society's value. Residents in the ancient Greece advocated art and science, which represents a trend then, freedom of person's thought and the passion and determination in  exploring the nature. Thus appearance can tell persons' interest and attitude as well as the value of their society. People in North Korea all dress in 去掉uniform, with only a few dull这样的评论不太合适 colors, black or grey, as well as hairstyle, are all quite the same. Their action and remarks are also uniformed――这一段不好这样写，最好不要对别的民族出现主观的负面评论. People can not afford to buy clothes, and they not allowed dress in a diverse way. This strange way they dress and behave reflects the terrible governance of this nation, rude and savage, and the nature of the nation, lacking of creativity, also their undeveloped economy. In contrast, China, which also suffered that savage period called ?The Great Cultural Revolution?, has undergone a dramatic development since its ?open and reform policy? came into effect in the end of the 1970s. People will not suffer from their constraint thought any longer, and get ride of any autocrat of the leader. Thus people can dress in different styles of clothes and in bright color. Each individual's attitude aggregate to the values of the society which can be reflected by their appearance.

One misconception is that appearance and behavior can reflect the whole nature of a person. Admittedly they can represent person's attitude and interests, and it will also lead us to a superficial way to understand a person or a society. Appearance and behavior are such exterior features that can not be used to percept the nature. To comprehend a society, we should study it from every aspect and collect more information, not just confined in that outside characters.――具体一点，可以适当展开
To sum up, appearance and behavior are quite essential for us to understand a person or a society,  but we should not be confined to those superficial things. Only by knowing from different aspect can we percept the interest or attitudes of a person or a society's values.

Whether the way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests? In my view, this issue is a case-by-case basis.(词好) The appearance and behavior are sometimes reflecting (reflect进行时没有必要 :) )the ideas and values from the society, but in some other cases, they do not work so.

On one hand, people's look, dress and act, to some extent do reveal with their attitudes and interests. Especially for the professional workers, such like(as比较好) the doctor(建议采用名次复数作泛指 doctors) prefers white color and always keep their stuff in a tidy order. And the actor is likely to get in attract with fashion clothes much more than others. Take a German philosopher for example. Immanuel Kant must be one of the most important philosophers in last hundreds, who stay in his hometown for whole life. And Kant always keeps an ordered arrangement in his life. People living in the town as well, even can check their watches' time while they saw Kant walking on the street in every afternoon at exactly same time. Like his strict behaviors on every trivial things(thing) in the life, Kant's attitudes on the academic writings are as same strict as well. And people could find out that Kant's ideas about the philosophic issue are always critical and inflexible. So in the case here, from Kant's behaviors in the reality, people can obvious(obviously) know his attitudes on academic ideas.

On the other hand, there are many cases in the world that people's appearance and behavior are not revealing with(略去) their social background. For instance, in Arab society, women must wear veils for their religious believes. However, in such conservative countries, there are lots belly-dancing girls (who) wear wanton costumes and perform in front of public. Same situation happens in Thailand, one of the traditional Buddhism countries. As we know, the lady-boy phenomenon is quite commonly to see in every tourism place in Thailand. By exchange from male body to some female features via artificial causes, those lady-boys are wearing bare dresses and living only for their abnormal appearances. It might be shock(shocking) for people who seen(see) them at first glance, yet at least, their government allow the lady-boy living with their own ways in totally opposite Thai society. In short, these cases tell us that someone's appearance and behavior are not always reflecting their social backgrounds, even in the extremely conservative countries.

In final analysis, appearance is less likely in nowadays to be a necessary issue to recognize someone in this pluralistic and blooming world. Take Bill Gates for example, the most wealth person in the world, however prefer to wear causal t-shirts and jeans in his daily life. What is more, there is a trend that lots high school girls are pursuing super-brands in today's society, and so do some ordinary office-workers. Another example here is about the appearances of homosexuals. Like some "tom-boys" in lesbian group are prefer male dressing, but some others are not. And it is easy for people who pretend to be such appearance, yet hard to recognize them. Therefore, the way people look, dress, and act only can take small part to decide the real ideas and values of them, especially in this modern age.

First, we admit that to some extent, a person' attitudes and interests can be mirrored their appearance, including look, dress, act and so forth. After all, their value??determines to some degree their behavior. For example, if a person is very fat, we can conclude that he is probably absence of excise and has low healthy sense, and even very lazy in daily life; If a person can express the their idea and thinking very clearly by influence language,??he or she may be labeled the "logical and critical thinking man"; At the same time, if a person is very diligent in his or her working and takes efforts in their assignment, he or she probably hold strong responsibility sense. Moreover, in some countries, for example German, the citizen living in German pursue the precise in any aspects and order society. And??it is true that German embrace preciseness. As a result, the publics will see only a "cheating".

Finally, the traditional culture and some custom play a vital role the society's idea and values. None person can refuse the influence of these factors. So to understand the traditional culture rather than only rests on the people's appearance more help us understand the society's ethos. In particular today, with the development of globalization, people living in the majority of big city??trend to show same appearance characteristics in the first glimpse. They commonly dress the business suits; use English; eat instant food. Nevertheless, it is true that people living different countries have different values. For example, after comparing between China and American we can not conclude that these two countries share common values only in that they have similar appearance, including wearing same dress, and drinking StarBuck coffee.（这个中美的比较不错，很有力）

Various colors also express interests of people even for the similar style garments. Active ones cast to red dresses; however, black suits are better choices for sophisticates. When i was engaged in this issue, I found there is a controversy lying in it. Some people contend that the way by which one looks, dresses, and acts frequently reveals his or her attitudes. What’s more, we can discern a society’s ideas and values by the appearance and behavior. As we all know, we, human beings, are the highest creators in the nature; we have the most complex mental organizations to generate free wills. There are parallels with domestic circumstance. Comparing the dressing style of 1960s to 1990s in china, we will find interesting phenomena. In the former period, people are confined to three colors when they choose their costumes that are black, white and grey. Their personalities were suppressed by collectivism during the "cultural revolution”. A sweeping reform launched in the 1978 greatly emancipated people's mind and behaviors. The Chinese began getting more concerned about their personal interests and favorites, which can also reflect on the appearance. However, the appearance or look does not make up the whole externality of an individual. To understand contemporary culture of a society, analyzing the activities of the people may be the most easy and quick way but not the most effective one. Because an effective one not only means a quick observation but also a comprehensive understand, whereas mere look, dress, act is insufficient. The appearance, with variable and superficial deficiency, hampers people to learn the essential ideas of a society.  What have been formed into the social ideas are those that are lasting and profound.

All in all , as for the feature of a society, including both the externality and internality, acquiring a effective comprehension of it, a combination both its citizens’ appearance, looks, acts and other factors study is needed.
