"Walnut Grove's town council has advocated switching from EZ Disposal (which has had the contract for trash collection services in Walnut Grove for the past ten years) to ABC Waste, because EZ recently raised its monthly fee from $2,000 to $2,500 a month, whereas ABC's fee is still $2,000. But the town council is mistaken; we should continue using EZ. EZ collects trash twice a week, while ABC collects only once. Moreover, EZ-which, like ABC, currently has a fleet of 20 trucks-has ordered additional trucks. Finally, EZ provides exceptional service: 80 percent of respondents to last year's town survey agreed that they were 'satisfied' with EZ's performance."

----------------------------------------
In this letter, the arguer concludes that it is mistake to switch EZ to ABC. To substantiate this conclustion, the arguer cites three main reasons such as the collection frequency once a week, the number of the trucks and the respondents’ satisfaction. However, these facts are not necessary enough to support the results and the reasoning process suffers several flaws which render it unconvincing.

To begin with, the fact that EZ collects twice a week while ABC collects only once can not substantiate the conclusions that the town council should contintue using EZ. It is entirely possible that the town trash are not too much one day, so collection per week may be suffice enough to the town. Thus, EZ collect twice a week may be redundant for the Walnut Grove town.

Moreover, the number of the trucks can not be a reason that may decide the council to use EZ and the futher fact that EZ had ordered 20 trucks additonal seems no meaningful for supporting the argument. Perhaps the ABC Waste trucks are more efficient than EZ’s trucks as the former are larger and have a faster speed than the latter, then, even thoght both have the same number trucks, the effect are not the same.Even if the too company trucks have the same efficiency, or perhaps the EZ has more customers and provide more sevice, the number of trucks that used for Walnut Grove’s town once a week are less than the ABC Waste. We kown that the two reasons above may lead the EZ to order more trucks. Even thoght not as sopposed above, we have not kown the time when the ordered trucks may be put in use in EZ, if the trucks are can not constructed be used for EZ as soon as possible and can used in one more year or even later, the fact that more ordered has not any superiority.

Futher, the service 80% respondents to the last year are agreed that they satisfied with EZ’s performance can not support EZ should provide exceptional service that ABC Waste.
First, we are not informed that the service is statistically realiable as the number of the residents that take part in the service are larger enough and respondent of all the residents if the arguer had informed that the service may confront to all the resident in the Walnut Grove’s town, the service result may be more convincing than any other. Second, the respondent may be a small number of the service and may not represdents of all the people that have involved in the service as the respondents  are composed of the mass whom are likely satisfied the EZ’s service. Third, agree with the ‘satisfied’ may not sugguest that EZ provide exceptional service than ABC Waste, it is possible that ABC Waste provide better service that ABC  may has a more propiciate satisfacion which higher than 80 than EZ.
Finally, what I want to mention is that the Walnut Grove’s town council’s decision may have its reasons, and the fact the ABC’s fee is less than EZ may support that we should prefer ABC rather than EZ.

In sum, the recommendaton is unconvincing. To blostor the conclusion, the arguer must convince us that collection once a week will not sufficient enough for the town. To better support the suggestion, the arguer should makes us convincing that the truck number has the significant importance for the quaility of the survice. Also, the arguer should make us believed that the sevice is statitically reliable and the prespondents are represendent of all the residents in the town.
