TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

1. 因材施教(个人角度.兴趣爱好)
2. 因需要(大学教育)

I agree that specific education designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student will give the students more chances to be excellent ones.

Every one of us is different from others. We have different look, habits and ways to do things. As young children, we have different intelligence and habits. If we are all given the same content to learn, some of us are not able to catch it and some of us have no interest in it. Thus both of these children will give up the lessons. Obviously, not only this kind of education has no effect to help the children to learn knowledge, but we could get a reverse result. They begin to hate the lessons and no matter what we do, nothing can be changed. On the contrary, if we design specific education for each student at least for different kinds of the children, things could be better than ever. All of us including adults and children enjoy doing things what they are interested in. So interests are important factors we should consider when we make education plans. At the same time, we cannot forget to think about the children's abilities. When we work on a goal we cannot gain for a long time, we will lose heart and don't want to do it any more. So when we are teaching young children, we must make sure they are able to master what they learn. That's the best way for education.

When we come to college education, the rules above also work. Though college students have much more abilities in any aspect, they still like doing what they are interested in and what they are able to do easily. Professors should meet each student's need as much as possible, because each student has his/her own idea and this may be a great invention or discovery. If we let them to study the same subject, even if the students do not mind and enjoy the studying, when they graduate, we don't need so many human resources with the same ability. Thus college education should consider not only the students characters but also what we need in the society.

However, we have not enough education resources to make specific plan for each student. What's more, there's no need of it. Form kindergartens to colleges’ education, there is much knowledge that everyone must learn. That's the basis for one's life and for one's further education, in another word personal specific education.

In sum, I agree that specific education is very important for students. But it is not the only way. We should combine the two. That is to specific plans when we need and to give same public courses when we can save education resources.

Albeit I agree that education should be different in some circumstances, however, the statement fails to take into account the disadvantages it would bring if we design special curriculums for each student.)

Every one of us is different from others(a special individual, thus we have many differences from any other person.). We have different look(appearances), habits and ways to do things. As young children, we have different intelligence and habits. If we are all given the same content to learn, some of us are not(may not be) able to catch it and (as well as) some of us (might) have no interest in it. Thus both of these children will( would) give up the lessons. Obviously, not only this kind of education has no effect to help the children learn( obtain) knowledge, but also we could (would) get a reverse result. They begin to hate the lessons; and no matter what we do, nothing can be changed. On the contrary, if we design specific education for each student at least for different kinds of the children, things could be better than ever. All of us, including adults and children, enjoy doing things what we are interested in. So interests are important factors we should consider when we make education plans. ( For example, in college education, there are many public courses which all the students must take. Such course should not design for every individual, because it is a waste of education resources.)

In sum, I agree that specific education is very important for students. But it is not the only way. We should combine the two( methods of specific and general education). That is to specific plans when we need and to give same public courses when we can save education resources.
