When it comes to the effective media, a great majority of people usually would think of television. However, apart from that, there are various media, such as books and radio. Here, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of those three media respectively.

Television is by all means an effective medium. On one hand, it can provide us information with motion picture and audible sound. On the other hand, it coverss a wide range of the information all over the world, varying from news, reports, to films and TV series. However, television has its side effects, especially to our health. For example, long time of watching TV is harmful not only to our eyes but also to our brains. The radiation given off by the television is likely to cause some disease as well.

In contrast, radio with no motive picture seems less effective than television although it could also supply the audible sound and varied information. Nevertheless, it has own edge, say, when you drive a car, the only information you can get is mostly from the radio.

Compared with the above two media, books are not so vivid and active, for the words in the books are stationary and usually with no sound. But the charm of words is enormous. Particularly when you read a novel, you can experience the feeling of the author through the accurate usage of word, whereas when you watch the TV, such experience may be twisted by the wrong act of the actor.
Further more, the cost of writing a book is much less than the cost of producing a TV program or radio program.

Consequently, television, radio and books all have their advantages and disadvantages. It’s really hard to tell which is better or which is worse. All of these three media have their great contribution to the spreading of information to human beings. So, none of them should we abandon at present and in the future.

题目最后一句：state which you consider to be the most effective。 虽然你最后一句话说了很难辨别哪个好哪个坏。但一开始考官会觉得你说了这么多没围绕问题，然而最后也就这么轻轻点过。分数不会高。如果你一开头就放出观点，认为很难说其好与不好，然后再自圆其说，可能会好点。一般这篇文章保守写法都是：开头放出观点觉得哪个最effective。然后一段分析3个media的merit and demerit，后一至二段重点写你支持的那个media。，结尾。这样会比较扣题。
