it is the common reaction. Your behavior iis some what like the "language addiction". And in the "shock" period, you have a tensive passion to use Chinese.... Thirty for the former language, right?
Those kind of thoughts are generally basced on your long term of mather language using, and your un-easy feeling when you type in English, esp when combining with the stree reaction where you are.
There are lots of ways to handle it. Now I am willing to give you two oppotions:
First, you can return back to your formal language habit. You don't have to push yourself too hard. With the enviroment changing and the condition you faced. You will surely use Chinese less and less. But this changing oppotion is longer in progress. And in a short period, you might form a "depend" behavior pattern. That is when facing the difficulity, you perfer to "turn away" and look "backward"
Second, you can keep your words and stick on the English language. You might feel not so pleasure at the begining. Or sometimes, with the stress you faced in a new place. You might feel "thirty" to re-use the formal language. But stop, jump out from that illogic cycle. You felt hard is based on your place changing. You can hold the illusion that you are still in China with the language using and the same website enviroment. But the fact is, you are in a place 12 hours later than your primial place. And no matter how many Chinese characteries you typied, you can not chang the fact. Forced language changing is hard, but in the long term, it is the fastest way to pass this "low period". As long as you can win the bet, what you actually gain is not simply the language itself, but also a stronger nerve, a braver heart. I think you knew, being here , you are not for a degree only, there are USME and resident training ahead. For your life career choice, I think you have known your option choice.
Facing the problems, focusing on hand and changing the intension of "past past tense"is always the best way to cure culture shock. Remember, pessure is oppotunity.
Now, it is your show time. GO!
