With the rapid progress of society and the ever increasing affluent materials, people have obtained more opportunities to make a decision in numerous respects. On the one hand, some people claim that the lack of choice is seldom rare; on the other hand certain people hold the opinion that the choice is adequate and we need more choice for choosing. On balance, I embrace the idea that admittedly, compared with the past, people have gained more choice than ever before in a great many aspects, however, the lack of choice still exists in a wide range. Further this condition varies from country to country due to the different levels of social development.

To begin with, it is obvious that the development of society has promoted flourishing and booming choices for people to have a proper selection. Such claim could be verified by the phenomena in different areas. Take education for example, more jobs and professions arise in the process of the evolvement of social civilization, which to a large extent enrich the choice of people for pursuit of career and grant more chances to people to carry out their dreams. For instance, in the past there are few training institutions in China which aim to provide the extensive training courses on English skills in listening, reading, speaking, and writing, and this circumstance constrain Chinese people to win offer for further study abroad or get job offers in large scale joint ventures or foreign-invested companies. Nowadays, the whole situation has been ameliorated, because more and more people could choose the relevant affordable training courses in terms of not only their individual preference in English but also in other types of demands, including communication skills, time management, team work and so forth. In a word, choice is abundant and flourishing than ever before due to the continuous social evolvement.

Unfortunately and understandably, the lack of choice also exists at the same time and it has aroused the extensive attention of the society. For instance, the impoverished children in the rural areas in China, a large amount of them still are not able to afford the expensive tuition fees charged by the universities, although they have capability to win the admission offers to universities. In this case, the opportunity is not fairly offered to every one in terms of different financial family backgrounds. Although currently the government exerts its effort to solve the difficulties of the impoverished students and let them continue study in the universities, this phenomena does not disappear finally since some of them even cannot afford the fares on travel from home to the university. In short, sometimes the lack of choice indeed exists in our life since the materials are not so rich that everybody could afford their valuable choice.

Particularly, the choice tends to significantly differs from the developing countries to the developed countries. For instance, the income level of residents in the United Stated surpasses that of people in Africa; therefore the majority of Africans are not able to choose to live the high quality life as Americans. Specifically, most Africans do not have adequate health care service, sufficient educations and so on as they expect.

In summary, on the whole, choice becomes more and more affluent and flourishing in our life due the development of social civilization. Meanwhile the condition of lack of choice still exists in many areas. Particularly, this difference concerning choice can be observed from the reality in the developing countries and the developed countries.

On the one hand, some people claim that the lack of choice is seldom rare; on the other hand certain people hold the opinion that the choice is adequate and we need more choice for choosing(“more choices” is enough). On balance, I embrace the idea that admittedly, compared with the past, people have gained more choice than ever before in a great many aspects, however, the lack of choice still exists in a wide range.
