帮忙看一下这两道类比题：1 WILLFULNESS:HEADSTRONG
                                    A.glibness:astute
                                    B.determination:attentive
                                    c.elegance:grandiose
                                    d.subservience:fawning
                                    e.anxiety:pessimistic 答案是d,可是觉得a也可以呀。
                                 2 UNTENABLE:DEFENDED
                                 A.valuable:insued
                                 B. fordable:crossed
                                 c.unjustifiable:forgiven
                                 d.unpretentious:admired
                                 e.invulnerable:injured 答案是e, 为什么c不对？

第一题是考感情色彩:
GLIBNESS: 善辩 ASTUTE:精明不是上述关系
SUBSERVIENCE:有用 FAWNING:奉承满足

1. two words of the similar definition both contain negative connotation

2.unjustifiable : unable to be justified
justify: to prove sth is right or reasonable
forgive ??

Thanks for replying. Still confused about the second one. Something untenable
can not be defended; Something unjustifiable can not be forgiven. They have
the same relationship, right ? Unjustifiable means "impossible to excuse",
correct?

UNTENABLE DEFENDED
A.valuable : insued
B. fordable : crossed
c.unjustifiable : forgiven
d.unpretentious : admired
e.invulnerable: injured

e,按新东方的说法叫做二重对应，纵向的关系，这方法解题蛮有用的，不知道为什么，凭感觉就能做对，试试UNTENABLE：invulnerable DEFENDED： injured

excuse has several different meanings

justify equals to definition A of excuse
forgive equals to definition B of excuse

Do you think justify equals to forgive ?

once again my understanding of the differences between justify and forgive :
justify is to prove sth right on the basis of uncertainty or accusation whereas forgive is to ignore or tolerate sth on the basis of admitting sth is wrong or immoral...
