题目:ISSUE 5 - "A nation should require all its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college rather than allow schools in different parts of the nation to determine which academic courses to offer."

Should a nation require all its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college as the speak claims? I concede that the nation wide unified curriculum is necessary in some respect, whereas, school in different areas should have the rights to add some specific courses to full fill the needs of that certain region.

Admittedly, the nation should demand all its students to study a unified curriculum and therefore benefits the whole society at most. In the first place, the national curriculum could make sure the basic education of the entire people all over the nation. A nation's prosperity roots on the average education level of its citizens. It is hard to conceive that how a nation full of illiterates be survive for long, not mention the thriving of that nation .While the quality of people not only reflect the achievement of the society  currently but also offer the nation a promising future.
For example, the rapid developments of so-called “East Asian Tigers” are all by virtue of the high quality human resources. In addition, it might be easier for the professors in colleges or universities to establish their teaching plans based on the national curriculum.

In the second place, any government, whatever democratic, communist or some religious ruled governments, has their own ideals, or otherwise beliefs, which have to be taught to its people. And the national curriculum is the most effective and convenient way to enact these teaching. The students, in other words, the prospective workers, officers, engineers, doctor, lawyers and likewise, determine the future direction of the nation, and hence their education defines what the nation will be, by instilling the students mainstream ideas about the society, the nation could remain steady and go forth as predicted in the future.

In the third place, it is necessary to offer a fair, just and transparent way to evaluate the quality of students and decide whether they could have the chance to make use of the limited education resources, such as the training programs, or enter the college. And the national curriculum is proved to be comparatively effective and righteous means to evaluate the students. Absent such national unified education, it is impossible to make such difficult choices. As in China, there are national curriculums which all students from diverse districts have to follow, and all the high school graduates have to join a national wide examination to decide what kind of colleges they could enter. Though the existing system used to evaluate students is not satisfying, nevertheless. Absent other more efficient ways, we have to stick on to it.

However, the reality demands the flexibility of the curriculum. The development of some areas needs special courses to afford specialists. For example, in some areas in which companies are most focus on the electrical manufacturing, hence the need for great amount of electrical engineers, or people who have such knowledge. As a result, the local school could add some extra courses on electrical engineering. In this case, the graduates could be more suitable for the job market and to some extent promote the development of that region. Moreover, the differences between regions require diversities in curriculum. As a multiracial nation, the U.S governments have to concern about the variations between different races, such as language, cultural and customs, and therefore provide suitable educations. It is improper to oblige any students to accept the same kind of curriculum, for instance, the Indian children might obtain some courses about their ancestors, cultures or history.

To sum up, it is the requirement of the society that we should have a national curriculum, at least at present. And moreover, to enhance the prosperity and progress of some parts of the nation, the local school could provide extra courses to meet some specific needs.

Should a nation require all its students to study the same national curriculum until they enter college as the speak claims? I concede that the nation wide unified curriculum is necessary in some respect, whereas, school(shools) in different areas should have the rights to add some specific courses to full fill(fulfill) the needs of that certain region(of后面是不是该改一下,前面是说不同地区的学校).

Admittedly, the nation should demand all its students to study a unified curriculum and therefore benefits the whole society at most. In the first place, the national curriculum could make sure the basic education of the entire people all over the nation. A nation's prosperity roots on the average education level of its citizens. It is hard to conceive that how a nation full of illiterates be survive for long, not mention the thriving of that nation(这句没看懂) .While the quality of people(人口的质量?总觉得不太地道,改成人们受教育的程度是不是好点 average level of education) not only reflect(reflects) the achievement of the society  currently but also offer(offers) the nation a promising future.

For example, the rapid developments of so-called “East Asian Tigers” are all by virtue of the high quality human resources. In addition, it might be easier for the professors in colleges or universities to establish their teaching plans based on the national curriculum.(前面在说国家,一下子说教育好像有点突然,要么改下主题句)

In the second place, any government, whatever democratic, communist or some religious ruled governments, has(have) their own ideals, or otherwise(这个词组的意思是:或相反,LZ是要表达这个意思吗?) beliefs, which have to be taught to its people. And the national curriculum is the most effective and convenient way to enact these teaching. The students, in other words, the prospective workers, officers, engineers, doctor, lawyers and likewise, determine the future direction of the nation, and hence their education defines what the nation will be, by instilling the students mainstream ideas about the society, the nation could remain steady and go forth as predicted in the future(这个句子太长了,以致意思不太清楚,by后面的写成另外一句吧).

In the third place, it is necessary to offer a fair, just(这里是不是重复了) and transparent way to evaluate the quality of students and decide whether they could have the chance to make use of the limited education resources, such as the training programs, or enter the college. And the national curriculum is(has) proved to be comparatively effective and righteous means to evaluate the students. Absent such national unified education, it is impossible to make such difficult choices. As in China, there are national curriculums which all students from diverse districts have to follow, and all the high school graduates have to join a national wide examination to decide what kind of colleges they could enter. Though the existing system used to evaluate students is not satisfying, nevertheless.(nevertheless 是不是后面一句的,看意思像) Absent other more efficient ways, we have to stick on(on 去掉) to it.

However, the reality demands the flexibility of the curriculum. The development of some areas needs special courses to afford specialists. For example, in some areas in which companies are most focus(focusing) on the electrical manufacturing, hence the need for great amount of electrical engineers, or people who have such knowledge(这句找不到主语感觉很混乱).

And moreover(Moreover), to enhance the prosperity and progress of some parts of the nation, the local school could provide extra courses to meet some specific needs.
