Are scandals useful to society ? In my opinon, scandal is a two-blade-sword.In one hand, scandal impel society to pay more attention to some being ingored social problems .In another hand, scandals possiblely serve to conceal some people’s achievement and are used by shceming people as weapon to destroy their opposites.

Admittedly, Scandals expose some pressing social problems and call our attention to these problems . Compared with the speech of speakers or reformers, scandals more easily intrigue the masses and receive immediate concern.Scandals in academical area aptly inllustrate this point, In China,several month ago, a famous biological professor’s scandal of counterfeiting experienmental data was reported in newspaper and televsion.Quickly,university,government, legislator pay attention to it and make related response. What they pay attention is not only about the incident itself but also relating problems exposed in this incident. University began to think that wheather their demand for professor in paper publication was too high and resulted in professor forge data. Government began to consider that wheater they should strengthen instruction in professors’ morality. Legislator began to aware that relationg laws should be make to limit similar actions. We can imagine that any speaker or reformer ‘s address can not get so immediately attetion as the scandal do.So,scandals indeed are usefull in calling people’s attention to some social problems.

On the other hand, sandals make us overphasize the actors’ faults in scandal and neglect their contribution. For instance,the sexy scandal of the former US president Bill Clinton’s sexy scandal made many people ingore his great contribution to American economic development and lowest unempolyment rate.However, I think the most thing deserved to being attention by people is Clinton’s achievement not his scandal. So, some scandal are easier to distract our attention from some important things to some insignificant things.

In addition,sometimse,people fabricate scandals to defeat their opposite. This action  severely blind people’s eyes and even make unnessnarily loss to society. Take the scandal in economy for example, To detroy their opposite, some company make sandals about their opposite by counterfeiting photos, issuing untrue information and so on. In China, rencently a band milk was reported included unhealth ingredient in Internet . When this news was exposed to public ,the sales of this company’s milk decreased quickly.But several month passed , this news was illustrated to be untruely and only an action of illegimate .From this example, we can find that some scandals are not usefull to society and even lead to tremendous loss to society.

In sum, some scandals can be useful to us for concering some improtant social  problems ,but  some scandal may mislead us to pay attention to insignificant things, and even make unfairly jugements. Therefore, Wheather scandala are useful is a case-by-case issue.
