In general, I agree with the assertion that through television programs and computer network people can be familiar with beautiful sceneries, which lie in various parts of the world, at home. However, I do not agree that tourism will become obsolete due to rise of using TV and network. In contrast, according to my observation, popularization of TV and Internet actually stimulate our interests to travel. As a result tourism will become more and more prosperous.

Affluent TV programs and popularity of Internet facilitate people understanding strange places they have never been to. There are many tourism programs even tourism channels broadcasted by TV now, like the Discovery Channel, finding many spectacular and mysterious natural landscape in Africa for audience. There are many tourism websites in Internet. People can find many pictures and introduction about famous places by them conveniently. Moreover, since the limitation of time and money, it is impossible for everyone to go out for tour. Computer network and TV programs satisfy their curiosities. For example, you can see the Egypt's Pyramids, the Great Wall of China, the primitive African plain as well as the mysterious tropical rainforest of the Amazon from TV programs and Internet websites indoors.

Tourism can not be replaced by TV and Network, even if TV programs and Internet offer vivid and concrete information for us. The real feeling is quite different from just seeing. For example, you can see the beauty of Hawaii in TV. Can you enjoy the feeling of lying on sand beach with warm sunshine? Also, you can appreciate various delicious Chinese foods from TV or Internet. Can you taste their true flavor? This is the real discrimination between seeing and real feeling. Besides, there are some additional benefits of tourism. In modern industry society, fast-pace life makes people less time to relax. Tour is an effective way to reduce stress. When people have holiday, they prefer to go out enjoy the fresh air, blue sky, and broad space. Tourism will enable people to relax for a while, and help us do some physical exercise, and let us know a lot of new friends. As we know, many companies will organize their employee to tour as welfare. Tour provides an opportunity for employees to familiar with each other, training team spirits. All of above cannot be attain by TV and Internet.

Furthermore, to some extent television and popularity of computer network stimulate our curiosity to travel. A tourism programs in TV is a wonderful advertisement for certain places, when we see some television programs about Venice, we would have impulse to visit the famous Italian city, seating on a gondola, shuttle between Venice’s hundreds canals. Before Internet connected into family, people acquire tourism information from newspaper, magazine or others’ speaking. However, along with the development of information technology, it is more convenient for people to get information from computer network. There are numerous websites, BBS, forums on Internet. We can get useful messages from them. Tourism websites offer information about hotel, traffic, weather and others’ travel experience. It is more convenient to help us make a travel plan by Internet.

With the information provided by TV and Internet, people can appreciate more natural landscapes and artificial sceneries where they have never visited. Tourism will become more and more prosperous along with the development of TV programs and popularization of Internet.
