In a larger number of cases, the way people look, dress, and act reveals their attitudes and interests. Whether or not the statement that one can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people is true or imagined in shown from the examples of individuals, different countries.

There is no denying the fact that the way, which citizens look, dress and act, reflects their attitudes and interests in many cases. Taking girls love puppy as an example, girls and young ladies usually go to raptures mere see the puppy or little cat, it shows that they are very much interested in little pets. Another telling example is from the youngsters. A few number of young men dress in bizarre clothes and tattoos, often disregard for what is generally thought proper and who is given to self-expression. Besides, in most cases, the way of one's action shows his attitudes. From the action of one give back the money he picked up we could know that he or she is credible and honest. On the other hand, from the action of man who deceives his wife we know that he is unfaithful.

In some cases, one indeed can tell much about a society's ideas and values by observing the appearance and behavior of its people. A lot of examples available support this conclusion. In China, most people intend to save much money for their children or their old age but not spend money to buy many extravagant products. It reveals the value of Chinese society is conservative. In German, people apply themselves earnestly to work, which reflects the social idea of German is serious and exact. In the most famous Carnival of Brazil, costumed people parade through streets, ordinary citizens who are masked dance and sing in the streets, when the Carnival comes, the whole country is in an excited and carefree atmosphere. It shows that the value of Brazil is warm and vigorous.

Although we can understand a society's ideas and values through observing the appearance and behavior of local people, in some other cases, it is not applicable as the statement asserted. In the tropical countries, due to the hot weather, people are likely to dress much less clothes, but it does not show and social ideas or values. Another telling example is the odd action of the people in Ghana. The men in Ghana, always, no matter how heavy an object, if only he or she can carry, will put the goods on his or her head, and carry it away. These strange actions are popular in the country, but the reason why people carry goods like this is just they are accustomed to do like that. There are no any social ideas and values for this general action.

Common sense tells me that we can tell much about a person's attitudes and interests by the way he look, dress, and act. However, when it comes to a social ideas and values, we must analysis the different situations case by case. The statement is a little absolute to be true. By observing the appearance and behavior of its people is only one of the ways to know a society.

总的来说例子充分,思路清晰,先说个人外貌行为,再说社会的,层次很好,值得学习
