When we grow up from children into the elders, our perceptive of the world is constantly changing. Some brought up by other people, some caused by the impact of things happened to us. But a most powerful force is consistently doing its job quietly——that is study, equipped us with knowledge and change our perception fundamentally.

In the first place, study can help us to explore the inner state of human beings, particularly in literature and psychology. By reading the masterpieces of Shakespeare or other great litterateur, one could understand more feelings, and learn how they occur and process. With this ability, one would find it is more easily to understand other’s emotions as well as to see what lies behind those feelings. In this case, one definitely views the whole world with different eyes. And, students graduate from psychology might find themselves more tend to notice and analyze some tidy part of human behaviors than others.

In the second place, the study of science changes our view of the world significantly. Even some basic knowledge of science could save one from superstition and uncertainty: physic teacher tell pupils that the earth is just a small round planet in the big universe, and it is gravity that consistently hold us to the ground; chemistry teachers demonstrate to students that water is some kind of substance made up by oxygen and fusion, and so on. These common sense make us learn that world and our human beings are constituted by atoms, and giving us objective eyes towards the world as a result.

Thirdly, the pursuit of history and some related disciplines like Politics and Economic can reveal to ourselves the rules of the society and the nature of human beings. From history classes or books, one learns that no man could be perfect, even the most admirable person in history might have flaws in their character, even conduct some stupid blunders; and how the firstly hauled conduction turned out to be a disaster eventually. These cognitions offer one skeptical eyes towards the world, and preventing one from becoming a fanatic. In addition, grasping the principle lies behind the economic world such as opportunity cost, one becomes more rational confronting complex choices presented by the complicated world.

Finally, the pursuit of philosophy and arts could replace the greedy part of human characteristic with love and harmony. We learn the interconnectedness of the whole world--the plants, the animals and our human beings through philosophy; we fill ourselves with passion and creativity by using our imagination in arts. The core value of these discipline have never changed through centuries, that is, the exploration of human emotion and nature. When modern world driven us towards the pursuit of profits and status, philosophy and arts could reveal to us that the value of our lives is not measured in terms of money, but by the extent of self-knowledge and the contribution one devotes to other people.

In sum, while one gain the knowledge handed down by ancestors though studying academic disciplines, one’s pattern of thinking is revised as well. As Bacon said, “Histories make men wise; poets witty; the mathematics subtitle; natural philosophy deep; moral grave; logic and rhetoric able to contend.” With different eyes, human beings continue seeking for answers to various questions of the world, through which the knowledge accumulate and hand down to the next generations.

By reading (the 可去) masterpieces of Shakespeare [我原来看到过莎翁集就直接表示成the Shakespeare’s ] or other great litterateurs[名著在这里用复数吧?], one could understand more feelings, and learn how they occur and process.
