Generally, I agree with the statement that both parents and communities must be involved in the local schools. However, it is perilous to put this viewpoint to the extremes. I will show my reasoning in the following examples of the famous Chinese philosopher.
More often than not, communities are significant for children's development, especially little boy likes imitating other men's behaviors, the communities influence them greatly. One telling example is from a story about the Chinese philosopher--Mencius. When he was a kid, he liked playing and imitating other people, he originally lived in the vicinity of a graveyard, and liked to played games such as building a tomb or imitating other to cry. His mother--Mengshi thought the community is unfavorable for him, then their family moved to a nearby fair. Then Mencius began to play games, in which he imitated butcher to slaughter pigs. Mengshi considered that the community affected and was bad to his growth, and then decided to live close to a school. Since then Mencius followed older students to learn
etiquette and knowledge. Mengshi though this is a prefect place to live and Mencius could learn what he needs, so they no longer move. From the example we know that how important a community is. The community must participate in the business of local schools, especially, it should provides a healthy and civil environment for local students.
Secondly, the parents play a big role in the learning and development of a child. No one care and love us more than our parents, they know their children best and understand how to teach their children best. I will use another example about Mencius. Mencius's mother--Mengshi always paid much attention to his study when he was young, in addition to sending him to school, she always urged him to learn. One day, Mencius skipped class from school and came back to home, at that time she was weaving, and she got angry when she saw he came back. She suddenly grabbed a pair of scissors, and cut off the cloth on the loom. Mencius felt shocked and knelt down to ask why. She said: “
Your learning just like my weaving, we should accumulate and gather day by day. If you get lazy and give it up
halfway, you will be like the cloth as same as this, which is cut into useless things. Mensius heard his mother's
advices, felt ashamed greatly, since then he focused on learning and worked hard, and eventually was regarded as one of the most famous philosopher in China.
Although parents and communities are significant for the growth of youngsters, we must appreciate the
irreplaceable role of the professional educators played. In some cases, too many parties involved in deciding the
ordinary instruction will lead to the low efficiency of teaching process. Especially, the curriculum, textbook, the instructional plan and tempo, for example, must be determined by the professional educators. In contrast, if parents and communities all participate in deciding the textbook and so forth, I am afraid that the teacher may cannot go on his classes.
In sum, as the statement asserted parents and communities must be involved in the local schools. Yet, we must
understand that the professional educators are better than parents and communities in the problems of how to
teach students and what kinds of methods are best to students. So it needs a balance between the parents or
communities and professional educators in how to help students' growth.
想把这个问题写得实例化些,不知这样可不可以。
