Does education would be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interest of each student? One purpose of education is to meet the students’ need.  To some extent the speaker’s statement is reasonable, however, on balance I cannot agree with the speaker: in a sense specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interest of each student is inefficient and impractical.

In one important respect I agree with the speaker’s statement, education is responsible to place enough emphasis on student’s need and interests, especially for students who has gift in some field or student who has disadvantage, and they would better practice and more easily achieve their goals with the help of specifically designed education. For example, Helen, who is blind and deaf, became a famous writer .her parents did not send her to a deaf and blind school, instead they introduce her a special teacher. Everyone cannot imagine her daily life without specific designed plans, let alone her later success.

On the other hand, specifically designed education has some drawbacks which amount to its inefficient, in the first, each student’s needs and interests are different, even opposition with others’, To meet every students’ specific needs, education system may cost too much due to employ specific teacher, design specific curriculum, and other specific plans, therefore government or family can not afford for it, in addition, millions of student graduated and millions of new student enrolled every year, and students’ needs and interests may shift vastly ,obviously, it is difficult for schools shift their plans every year, so efficient of specifically designed education is less than general education.

Another problem with the statement is that overstate specifically designed education may cause individualism even some social problem, one purpose of education is teach students with values our society call for, yet the team spirit, moral may decline at the meantime meet individual’s needs and interests, in comment sense people who merely care individual’s needs and interests other than others’ would not benefit the whole society.

To sum up, due to the reasons and analysis list above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that although the individualities of students should be taken into account, there is no need to design a specified education plan for each student to draw a truly effective result, on the other hand, the general effectiveness would be negatively affected because designing so many different plans is inefficient and impractical for educators.
