Admittedly, in some extent, the socialization of children determines the fate of society partly and we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society. However, we should not omit other factors that influence the development of society.

There is no denying the fact that the socialization of children is important for society. Socialization, in other words, is that children learn to be part of the society. The precondition of social development is all its members, especially children, involve in the society. For example, Ma jiajue, who was a sophomore and killed his four classmates three years ago, shocked all people in China. On account of his environment of family and school, he became unsociable when he was a middle school student, since then, he withdrew with communicating with other students. At last, he killed his roommates for the fake of a petty quarrel. If all students like Ma jiajue, the society will bog down and lose the force of development.

However,although teaching children to be social men is crucial, we should not ignore other factors that play a vital role in the society such as morality, science and technology, and economy. First of all, morality makes the society more harmonious and stable. Besides, science and technology facilitate people's life and promote the development of economy. Moreover, economy provides the mental and material products to satisfy people's different needs. All of them and the socialization put together determine the fate of society.

I agree the statement that we have not yet learned how to teach children to build a better society. Firstly, as the example of Ma jiajue discussed above, it tells us that we should pay much attention to help children to be part of the society. Secondly, one cannot expect that children take messages about morality seriously unless they see adults behave according to moral norms in day-to-day affairs. Nevertheless, some adults violate the standards even some celebrities who we usually regard as role models did so. For example, Kohl, the former chancellor of Germany, involved in the scandals of misusing public funds; And Nixon and the notorious watergate. Thirdly, adults always teach children to work hard to be great scientists, yet, a lot of so-called "famous experts" involve in academic scandals. For instance, the Hwang Woo Suk case of Korea and Chin jin's Hanxin digital signal processing unit chip case of China. Last, we all know that there are full of cheating, trap and scandals in the realm of economy. If adults cannot be good role models, how can children learn to build a prosperous society.

I fundamentally agree with the statement that teaching children to be apart of society plays a big role in determining the destiny of society. However, we should not overlook some other significant factors such as morality, science and technology, and economy. As the statement asserted we do indeed have not yet learned how to teach children to setup a wonderful society. But adults must know that they should influence the attitudes and behaviors of children greatly.
