批改
110 "When we concern ourselves with the study of history, we become storytellers. Because we can never know the past directly but must construct it by interpreting evidence, exploring history is more of a creative enterprise than it is an objective pursuit. All historians are storytellers." [05/18; 06/0]
issue110 【自由女神小组第九次作业】
Nowadays, there is an controversy over the issue of history. Some people claim that the historians are storytellers, while the other one advocate that the historians are not storytellers. As far as I concerned, I prefer to the later(latter), the historians are not storytellers because they just tell(这个tell 是不是不太好,因为观点是historians are not storytellers, 但是还用tell.最好用个表示精确的词汇,比如elucidate) us what have happened yesterday(再加个exactly什么的比较好).(这个开头挺好的, 提出了两种观点,最后同意后者)
To begin with, we must admit that the knowledge of past is indirect, the knowledge is just from the historical information which conclude art, books, pictures and so on. These in formations are scatter records of fragmentary vestiges. The historians collected these information and organize them to form a whole picture of history. In this process of study of history, every step is according to the real importations and the vivid imagination(最好不用imagination用deduction比较好). What the historians get must the most accurate history we can know by the information.
However, the historians are not tell stories, they just tell the truth about what happened yesterday. All of the history must( be) the base on the truth and have been exported or researched. But the story-tellers would never(never有些绝对) do any exploration or research of ancient event before they spoke. Even when they tell stories related to some historical events. They can tell what ever they want. Titanic, is the name of an ship sunk in her fires voyage. When a historian record this even, they may write some basic data about the weight of the ship, the number of the people on the board, and the date of the shipwreck. But a story-teller, on the contrary, wrote a moving love story happened in the ship. Therefore(这个因果有些突兀,最好再写几句), the historians are not story-tellers.
In addition(这个开头不错), it is necessary to admit that reasoning is indispensable for the whole process of constitution of history. In other words, the appropriate reasoning and even imagination may be our only one choice at present time. And just this joint becomes the most doubted place by general publics for the suspiciousness to historians. Nevertheless, the confidence are supported at the same moment by the strict professional training to the vocation takers, the high technologies provided by the authentic researching organizations containing the discriminating method of chemistry and physics. The assistant from the simulation by the electronic and information system, and so forth. The meticulous caring to each details of the construction is enough to give us the believable answers to our question(历史研究不明白,也不会去想象,而是悬而未决,想象的话就成了故事了,历史就是精确的).
To sum up, story-tellers can never be compared to historians' "stories" are based on the truth of event, but they limit their stories in a short and objective style(这里最好不要承认历史是故事,历史是一种严谨的科学).
总结:
优点:
