This conclusion seems logical at first glance. However, careful scrutiny of the argument reveals various logical problems, which render it unconvincing. The author points out that researchers studied 25 infants, yet 25 infants might constitute an insufficiently small sample to draw any reliable conclusion, and they are not representative of all infants who born（conceive） in early autumn. Perhaps majority of them are disable babies有点极端, or perhaps they were born in the same hospital in which the condition is not very well. Besides, infants show signs of mild distress when exposed to unfamiliar stimuli do not indicates that they were influenced by the hormone. Common sense informs us that it is more likely a normal respond. Sometimes, adults also have the same performances when they meet unfamiliar stimulation.还是说如果另一组其他时间怀孕的小孩受到刺激也会紧张比较好:) Even assuming that the study's result is statistically reliable, the author also falsely assumes that there is a casual relationship between mild distress and melatonin which produced by infants' mothers in early autumn表述不准，increasingly produce. The author only mentioned that melatonin can affect some brain functions. However, we are not informed that whether these functions can influence infants or not（婴儿也有大脑，还是说是影响他更紧张还是更平静好一点）. Perhaps this is only a coincidence, and melatonin has no effect in infants' behaviors. Maybe there are some other hormones have this function. In addition, if this is the truth. Why the infants born in winter did not have this kind of performance.
:) Finally,the author provides no evidence that the infection of melatonin would continue into later life. It is pointed out that in a follow-up study more than half of these children identified themselves as shy. However, children would have a great change over time. It is entirely possible that the characters of the children, the family, life environment, school education and even social ethic are attributable to children's shyness. While the author overlooks a fact that there are almost half of these children do not express be shy.
