Issue 51
Education will be truly effective when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student.

提纲

The speaker would prefer specifically designed education for each student instead of setting up general classes. I agree insofar as specifically designed education would be beneficial to cultivate individual personality and interests. At the same time, however, we should have set up general classes to understand basic ideas and knowledge; otherwise, students will be lack of basic skills and core theories in the long term.
A specifically designed curriculum would be beneficial to individuals in a number of respects. First of all, by providing education according to each student’s particular situation, the specifically education would help students to find out their interests and strengths, since different students have different conditions. In addition, conducted by teacher directly, they would choose the most effective way to achieve the success. Finally, specifically designed education would make students be more confident and feel pretty good about themselves because the subjects they learn are more suitable for them.
However, specifically education also has its own defectives and limitations. First of all, such kind of education might lead to lacking of basic skills and core theories which are necessary in their future life and career and narrow their perspectives on many subjects. For example, if a student show great interests and talents in language learning while he/she is totally confused about mathematics. According to the principle of the specifically education, he/she would study language much more than mathematics. Unfortunately, his mathematics would be worse and worse and in his/her later life, he/she might have no chance to understand subjects relating to natural sciences since mathematics is a basic tool for all kinds of natural sciences.
Secondly, considering the limited teacher resource, it is not feasible and possible to arrange so many teachers to be in charge of each student for tutoring and designing the certain mode education. Also, teachers have different ideas and ability to plan teaching methods and we might fail to make sure schemes designed by teachers are proper or not. As a result, some specifically education would have worse effects for some students and even prevent them finding out their true interests and lose confidence to learning.
Finally, it seems to me that specifically designed education would easily form individualism in the long term, if the individual’s personality and characteristic are over emphasized. Students who are not mentally matured sometimes are not able to find out where their true interests lie in, and are only willing to choose subjects which are easy for them, however, not really best fit to them. What’s more, they might go extremes on a certain subject since they are totally unacceptable for other subjects.
In the final analysis, specifically designed education would amount to a double-edged sword. While it would serve as an effective way to find out individual interests and needs, at the same time it might serve to narrow an individual’s perspectives and form individualism. We also have not so many teacher resources for each student. The optimal federal approach, in my view, is a balanced one that imposes general classes along with specifically designed curriculums for each student.

看完了,哈哈!!!!

The speaker would prefer specifically designed education for each student instead of setting up general classes. I[少用I,文章要体现冷静,公正,客观] agree insofar as specifically designed education would be beneficial to cultivate individual personality and interests. At the same time, however, we should have set up general classes to understand basic ideas and knowledge; otherwise, students will be lack of basic[换成fundamental,前面用过了] skills and core theories in the long term.
Finally, specifically designed education would make students be more confident and feel pretty good about themselves because the subjects they learn are more suitable for them.[这段经典啊]
However, specifically education also has its own defectives and limitations. First of all,[换个吧,前面用过了] such kind of education might lead to lacking of basic skills and core theories which are necessary in their future life and career and narrow their perspectives on many subjects. For example, if a student show great interests and talents in language learning while he/she is totally[太绝对了吧] confused about mathematics. According to the principle of the specifically education, he/she would study language much more than mathematics. Unfortunately, his mathematics would be worse and worse[不符合英文习惯,读起来就像more and more people…] and in his/her later life, he/she might have no chance to understand subjects relating to natural sciences since mathematics is a basic tool for all kinds of natural sciences.
In the final analysis[换了,前面有了final], specifically designed education would amount to a double-edged sword. While it would serve as an effective way to find out individual interests and needs, at the same time it might serve to narrow an individual’s perspectives and form individualism. We[不要随便用,理由和不用I一样,改成people] also have not so many teacher resources for each student. The optimal federal approach, in my view, is a balanced one that imposes general classes along with specifically designed curriculums for each student.
