At the firs glance, individually-specific education will tap the full potential of each of every student, which makes the speaker's opinion seem well informed. However, with a closer study of the purpose of education and the running of an individually-specific education, we could see that the speaker overstates the significance of education aimed at meet the needs and interests of each student.

The purpose of education varies with different people in different countries. According to the definition of UNESCO in Paris in 1996, the purpose of education is 'Learning to know; Learning to do; learning to get together; Learning to be'. Specifically designed education will equip students with specific knowledge in the domains they are interested. First, with individually-designed education the students can learning a part of what should be known and what could be done. Nevertheless, education aiming at meeting the individual needs and interests is a leave to a forest compared with what a individual should learn to know and do. Second, individually specific education calls for individually for one person at an early stage of life. It is possible that individuals would be to specific that they could not to put up with each other. Moreover, if a individual is only interested in scientific field, he or she may lack the basic knowledge of literae humaniores, which could fail to get a individual well-rounded educated.

To take a second view of the specifically-designed education, we could see the process and consequence of receiving the unique education. When you get enrolled in a school in which education is specifically designed to meet the needs and interest of students, you have to figure out what you really need or are interested in. As need and interest can change in any time at any stage of life, how can you decide on the courses you are going to take at the very beginning of education? The school has its own trouble, too. It has to provide all sorts of textbooks and instruments and apparatus that the pupils need in their education-which will increase the expense of the school. It has to hire more teachers and employees to increase the number of faculty, as different courses call for different teachers. It has to decide how to assess the learning progress among its students as every two different students may take totally different courses. When you graduate from school and decide to find a job, the employer has no standard to compare your record at school with other competitors.

However, under several conditions it will be truly effective when the education can meet the individual needs and interests. For instance, when you decide to get educated in order to hunt a job, obviously you wish could get prepared for what domain you are going to work in other than get a well-rounded education which may help you nothing in you coming career. Besides, when you get finished your elementary education, you may get your own point of view of what you are actually interested in and in which view you want to get excel in order to prepare yourself for maybe the rest of life. Moreover, you can get self-educated to meet you own interests and needs.

To sum up, the speaker overrates the effect of education designed to meet each student's needs and interests, at least to some extent. When it comes to the elementary education, one should expect well-rounded education be popular. However, specifically designed education also helps our get prepared for life.
