不完全同意,教育的目的是要培养出懂得如何思考，懂得如何
1.让步，兴趣是一个人成功的动力，教育不可忽视对学生兴趣的培养。
2.但是，如果只重视个人兴趣，而忽视基础学科如数学，文学等的教育，学生也不会有所成就。进一步，如果缺少合作，竞争，忍让，还有尊  重别人等品格的培养，教育更是不全面。
3.学生的兴趣爱好往往是一时的，不会持久，需要引导。
结论，尽管学生的兴趣对教育很重要，但是教育不可只片面的强调他的作用。

Will education be truly effective only when it meets the individual needs and interests of each student, as the speaker

claims?  In my view, while individual interests play an important role in an effective education, there are still many other

aspects that are of the same importance, if not more, as individual needs for a successful education.

Admittedly, whether education is effective depends much on the extent to which it stresses students' individual interests.

Everyone would agree that students' drive of learning is chiefly motivated by their interests. All students will be more

energetic and exited when learning the things they like. Without interests, students would find education is such a boring

thing that they do not want to work hard in school. In a word, successful education can not ignore the significant impact of

individual interests.

However, the main purpose of education is to fully develop students' abilities and characters rather than just meet their

narrow interests. For example, many students may not have much interest on some basic knowledge such as math, art, history

and literature, which are actually the most important knowledge that every student should strike to learn. One can not go far

in academic or other areas without such fundamental knowledge. Moreover, over-emphasize on individual interests may result in

students' unhealthy personality. As they care their interests only, they do not have enough chance to participant activities

with others where students learn how to compete, cooperate, tolerant and respect others. Without sufficient interaction with

their peers, perhaps they would like to go to extreme such as grow to be anti-society. Thus, education should pay attention

to some other aspects except individual interests in order to provide society healthy and fully-developed students.

Besides, individual interests can attribute to effective education only when they are well guided by teachers and parents. As

most young students' interests often can not last long and are without purpose or plan, it is dubious for them to persist. So

education should not only meet them but also provide good guidance, especially when such interests are evil or anti-society.

And in my view, the chief function of elementary and secondary education should be developing the children’s personality and

teaching them basic knowledge as mentioned above. It is more proper for the college develop students’ unique interests, as

at that time they have recognized what they really want to do and been able to control themselves.  

In sum, although obviously individual interests play a vital role to effective education, it is not only one. There are still

many other aspects we should pay enough attention to. Otherwise, education could not be effective but unhealthy and crazy.
