Admittedly, the study of history can break down the illusion that people are not same when they live in different time. However, I consider that people who live in different time are different from each other to some extent and that the study of history has several benefits such as helping us to learn the experience from ancestors and solve the problem of daily life.

There is not to deny that people who live in different time have some same characters. One of the benefits of the study of history is to let people to know this point. We can learn from the study of history to know that human nature such as love and jealousy has changed little during the development of society. Love, one of the important human nature, has not altered throughout thousand years. It is represented in different forms, from poem to novel, from drama to movie. For example, Peacock Flies Southeast, one the most popular poems of China in three thousand years ago. Another example is Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, one of his most famous tragedies. In modern time, love is one of the hottest topics of movie such as Titanic. From these examples, we can see that in different era love is consistent human nature.

More generally, however, in different era, people are different from each other in the attitude toward some problems such as diseases and the status of women. For example, people lived long ago, lacked basic knowledge of how to cure different diseases and of the causes of them, sometimes, in some societies, people sacrifice living people to their god for appeasing the wrathful god and ask His help. With the development of science, people know the methods of how to cure the diseases and the causes of them. Another example involves the changing attitude of women's status. The industrial revolution freed women from their housework, moreover, the traditional viewpoint of superiority of men over women was altered in the past centuries. These examples inform us that in different time, people's attitudes and ideas toward some problem might change significantly.

Furthermore, in addition to the study of history can help people to know the same characters of people who live in different time, it has several other more important benefits such learning the experience of ancestors and solving our problems. Firstly, from the study of history we can know some important experience which benefits us. For example, In Qing Dynasty of China, a general who named Xiang yu was the king of Chu. However, he was very pride. At last, he was defeated in Xiaha by his competitor. This example informs us that pride is dangerous to everyone.

In summary, I concede that human nature will not change with time. Nevertheless, people's attitude and ideas might alter during the different era with the development of society. And one must know that we can benefit from the study of history a lot except the benefit mentioned in the statement.
