There is no doubt that education should pay more attention to the needs and interests of students. However, it is impossible for any educational institution to satisfy the needs and interests of every student.

If curriculum is designed to emphasize needs and interests of students, students will learn more positively. Interests are the best teacher. Though the needs and interests of students can promote them to learn positively, it is impossible to meet the needs and interests of every student when designing the curriculum. Different students have different interests and needs, but the curriculum of each term are only one. If there are 30 students in a class and most students have different interests of learning, how can a class meet the specific needs of every student at the same time? Clearly, it is impossible!

Moreover, interests of students are not fix and constant, and may turn to other fields easily, because students are too young to confirm their real interests. Maybe, after an  excellent report on art, a student has a great interest in the art history. A month later, he meets a famous politician occasionally and gets so much from their short talk and so his interest turns to politics quickly. In such a situation, will a set curriculum alter with the change of interests of students? It is clear that any educational institution will not do so.

In sum, caring the interests and needs of students will make education more effective. Nevertheless, to let education meet the specific needs and interests of every student is not practical.
