  When most of people think of the word "education",they think of a nation's progress and prosperity.Education is the base of the knowledge creating,spreading,and applying.And it's also the cradle to cultivate creating spirits and creating minds.Because of its core position in the whole society,at all the time every country is seeking an effective way for education.Genuine education,as Socrates know more than two thousand years ago,is not inserting the stuffing of imformation into a person,but rather eliciting knowledge from him.It is drawing out from his mind.Furmore,the success of many great individuals enlightened us that interest is a best teacher.
  
  Everyone in the academic circles may know this:under most circumstances,interest plays a magnitude role in the process of learning.On the threshold of a new learning,interest is the beacon that leads us to the bright and challenging world of science.And then interest stimulates us further efforts to reach the scientific peak.As a special mentation, interest reflects people's favor and yearning ,that will inspire one's potential which can't be estimated.History has seen many examples:the interest in dreadful genetic diseases makes scientists all over the world unite together to explore the human genes;the urgent need for information leads to the birth of the Internet;And the interest in the outside world forces us to probe into the other planet,like the Mars.And there are also many other interests,which impel us to go forward.Anyway,we explore because we interest in.
  
  The interest is important,but the basic knowledge which is needed by all students can't be ignored.If we compare the learning to the chemical reaction, the reactant is the basic knowledge while the interest only does as the catalyzer.Sometimes the catalyzer is not necessary for the reaction which just accelerates this process,however,Any reaction can't do without reactant.In the current times,there is,for the science and technology,an increasing desire for the researchers who possess wide knowledge,because science is more complex and universal.Currently a new theory is founder by interdiscipline.The MIT,famous for its reputation and achievement,has a special arrangement for curriculums.The student regardless of his major is required to learn biology,chemistry ,physics,and mathematics.Maybe,it is the secret of the success of MIT. From Flyer One by Brother Wright to A380,the biggest jetliner in the world, it is both the interest and knowledge that realize the human's dream of flying.
  
  However, not all the interests are positive.It suggests that the interest should be instructed by parents and the teachers.As we know,many young people admires of Microsoft's Bill Gates,the richest in the world,who restores America to the status of economic powerhouse and techological leader of the world.Thus,Those passionated young people become interested in Software even though some of them lack the ability in logic and maths.It is considered such interest is unreasoning.
  
  Furthermore,it is impossible that education will meet the individual needs and interests of each student.There is not a university that will satisfy every student's requirement of the major,since the society needs people from different fields.Churchill said,It is no use doing what you like;you have got to like what you do.We should look at the larger picture as a guide for the future.
  
  In sum, interest is important as an incitant factor but not a key factor.The speaker's suggestion that education should be designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student seems unpractical currently.Because some majors are really boring and difficult which intrersts few students,but the society needs them to do that research.Certainly,that suggestion is constructive and maybe be adopted one day.It emphasizes on individual and it will probably become the new trend of education.That interest is the best teacher will be true not only in the past but also in the future.
