Today human beings faced more and more challenge.　So there is an idea that government should focus more on solving the immediate problems of today rather than trying to solve the anticipated problems of the future. Of course problems of today are urged to solve. The government should pay more attention. But problems of the future should also be paid enough attention.

One reason why the governments should focus more on solving the immediate problems is that if those problems are not solved immediately there will be no chance to compensate. So we must solve them on time. Take education for example. The government must pay enough to money and attention to ensure the children will receive properly education on time. High quality of education is the most important thing for the children it will improve the future of them. Or it may bring all kinds of problems. People of poor education will lead to a higher rate of crime, a worse quality of labor and so on. So the government must focus on it without hesitate.

Another important reason it that immediate problems afflict people most. Such as unemployment，pollution and so on. So we have to solve these problems first. Because people all hope these problems could disappear as soon as possible. A democracy government is to serve its people. What the government does must reflect the people's desire. It is a basic function of government And these are indeed the need to be solved first. So the problems today must be focused. The government should spend money on them and also make right policy so that people will live a better life.

However, the government would never only focus on immediate problems. One reason is that the future problems will be easier solved today. Such as pollution, once the water, the air or the soil is polluted, it is very expensive even impossible to clean. But if the government pretends them from pollution it only needs to pay a low cost. Another reason is that future success depends on the efforts day. Such as basic sciences research, the processes of a technical problem will bring us profit immediately. A breakthrough on the fundamental principium will change all the human society. Such as electricity and computer, but the cost of this breakthrough may be more than one lab or company can bear so the government should make a policy to sustain such research.

In sum, we must treat both today and future seriously. The problems today is surely to be focused on because they influence our life directly and the problem of the future should be focused on because it will reduce our problems or bring us benefits tomorrow
