183"As we acquire more knowledge, things do not become more comprehensible, but more complex and more mysterious."

Are things getting more complex and more mysterious as we acquire more knowledge? If one defines by ‘knowledge’ as the basic skills in our everyday life, such as how to sing a song, or how to write an essay fluently, I would be disassociate with the speaker’s view. However, as in the realm of natural science, where people benefit from a lot today, I could take the speaker’s point completely. The intricate side we detect is, to some extent, derived from the adding prospective we see it, as well as the fine tech contrived to examine it.

Of course, one may assume that science have solved large number of problems for us today, which put the speaker’s assumption at stake. This, as I see it, is only the surface of science. Surely, in the virtue of advancing technology, people can live a better life. Yet it does not indicate that we indeed solved a problem. The more theoretic one is, the hard we find ourselves to understand. For instance, everybody knows how to use a CD player, but few, along with the scientists, has any clue that links to the basis principle of electronic and magnetism.

Engles points out: the unknown is just like a dark circle, the more human explores, the bigger they find the circle is. 2000 years ago, When Aristotle asserted the constitution of every substance is atom-an iota particle that exists in every item, the explain for the world’s construction seemed clearly enough. With the lapse of time, scientist fined ways to force the atom to split into smaller parts. But their sense of satisfy soon vanished as the further experiment which claimed to have detected some other articles inside an electric brought out. Even till now, efforts are still made in order to find the unique undividable article in the world of matter. In the process of physic research, the complexity of the world itself has aroused an avalanche of problems for scientists to get a transparent view of the world’s principles. Therefore, it is reasonable that instead of making the construction of the matter clear and easy, modern scientists aware that it is a tough question to answer. In Aristotle’s age, people know few about the world due to their lacking knowledge and appliances, thus, their simple explain was easily contended for the scant of resources to approach to the truth.

Another interesting illustration of the issue involves the chaos theory-one that indicates the possibility that a butterfly in South America fluttering its wings may generate a horrible typhoon across the ocean. Along with the rapid advancement of technology and the accumulation of knowledge, we human are able to examine a problem with new dimensions, by which things may turn surprisingly different as we see it before. It is like a collage: a picture that looks like a figure from far, while reveals as hundreds of tiny pictures with distinctive person on it when coming near. If we cannot access to the picture, we will never find the truth. In the same way, without going into the forest and record the movement of a butterfly’s wing and other with correlation, the secret of the nature’s way of inter-influence would never be on-board.

To sum up, I response to the speaker’s contention that things go to the complicating side as we gain more and more knowledge about it. It is, to some people, an irritating thought. Nevertheless, to accept it does not mean increasing confusion to our world but to get a chance to know the Earth better.

小评了一下 :)

183 "As we acquire more knowledge, things do not become more comprehensible, but more complex and more mysterious."

The intricate side we detect is, to some extent, derived from the adding prospective we see it, as well as the fine tech contrived to examine it.(定义得不错,逻辑很清晰)

Of course, one may assume that science have solved large number of problems for us today, which
put the speaker’s assumption at stake. (…

Engles points out: the unknown is just like a dark circle, the more human explores, the bigger they find the circle is. 2000 years ago, When Aristotle asserted the constitution of every substance is atom-an iota particle that exists in every item, the explain for the world’s construction seemed clearly enough. With the
lapse(elapse) of time, scientist(s) fined(found) ways to force the atom to split into smaller parts. But their sense of satisfy(satisfaction) soon vanished as the further experiment which claimed to have detected some other articles inside an electric brought out. Even till now, efforts are still made in order to find the unique undividable article in the world of matter. In the process of physic research, the complexity of the world itself has aroused an avalanche of problems (这个用得很好)for scientists to get a transparent view of the world’s principles.

这段是想很多事情越看越复杂了么? 可是没有明指出来,却似再说,我们知识越多,越能看到真相般.

To sum up, I response to the speaker’s contention that things go to the complicating side as we gain more and more knowledge about it. It is, to some people, an irritating thought. Nevertheless, to accept it does not mean increasing confusion to our world but to get a chance to know the Earth better.
中间那段很不错. 你开头提了对basic skills,我们了解得更清楚了,可是在正文中却没有认真的解释呢.

Aza Fighting~
