Along with the development of our modern society, people need more and more to fulfill their endless requirement. As a result, most of us consider practicality as the very vital aspect when we make a choice or any thing else. However, in my opinion, no matter how important it is, practicality could never be the only aspect that affects our minds.

Since human beings jumped down from trees and began to use hands and brain for living, practicality has been regarded as a key point that every individual must serve all energy and intelligence. It is obviously that without practicality, fewer of our ancestors could reach the age of 20 or 30. Besides, great thinkers never image that they can neglect the starvation through focusing on something unpractical but important. With the overwhelming growth of the technology, human beings get free from the boring of starve and have time to consider philosophy issues. Although most of such issues are not urgent thus not obviously practical, they do affect the quality of our spiritual life rather than material life.

Education shows its property of both practical and potential. Students learn skills from school and earn their food, house, even reputation through skills. It is the practical property of education. On the other hand, educators or scholars focus on how to improve the quality of our life more effectively. Countless dollars were consumed and most of such experiments were aborted or failed. In fact, it is regarded as useless in the very coming years.  However, our society is always shoved by such force as the rungs of a ladder to success. Compared with centuries ago, we should share more attention to something without on-time affect but have great potential force.

Details of our life tell the witness of human beings. Look at the national policy around us. Industry cause problems, and energy crisis is one of them. Without the control of exploring oil, we will have more fluent material treasure in decades. Own to the witness of human beings, we consider both now and future. In order to avoid the disaster of distinction, national policy tends to guide society developing sustainablely.

Admittedly, urgent problems such as poverty and war have to arouse our attention. Such practical problems deserve our powers and talents because they do harm to the humanity. Nevertheless, not all urgent problems are key issues. Limited powers could not be lost in endless and trivial life problems. Global view can maximize the rights of us in long way. In this view of point, some of our talents should be preserved and devoted to long-view problems, especially those philosophy problems which affect every aspect of our industry and society. Who can deny the devotion of Dewy, a famous educator and philosophy who tried to refine the old system of philosophy thus affected the process of history.

In summary, practicality is very important and deserved our powers and talents, but never be all of them. Some of our energy and intelligence should be devoted to some issues which do not solve urgent problems but affect all of us in long view. And only this is the most important task of philosophy.
