With the development of our society and the improvement of the civilization, people pay more attention to the virtue of themselves. Most people believe that virtue is necessary in that it provides the essence to constitute the harmony of human beings. A lot of people believe that loyalty is a kind of virtue which has the above function. Nevertheless, appropriate loyalty is necessary while intense loyalty shows a blind belief.

To begin with, proper loyalty improves the efficiency of the society. From the definition of loyalty, we may find the solution to the answer above. Loyalty is a kind of deep confidence to a company or a trust to friends or any other people from the bottom of one's heart. With loyalty, people who work together never need to waste unnecessary time to rectify their partners and thus can cooperate more efficiency. The loyalty of employees in Japan is ensured through the polity that employees can stay in only one company throughout his or her life. It is a controversial tactic, but the unprecedented fervidness and efficiency of Japanese and their fine products show the power of loyalty.

Equally important, necessary loyalty helps us to setup a harmonic environment. The theory from psychology tells us that people can keep a sunny mood only when they feel relax. Loyalty supplies such opportunity. Fully trust between a husband and his wife deduces deep love and gets rid of suspicion; and harmony of family thus underlies balance of our society. It is hard to image how a society without loyalty would work. Individuals devote themselves to struggle with their mates or even the spouse. Every group stops their steps before paramount issues in that cooperation never exists any more. Necessary loyalty, at this circumstance, serves as a virtue and makes sure that our society functions well.

However, one virtue which goes to far is as bad as not enough. Intense loyalty is a kind of blind mind and creates a narrow and short sight. Any person with common sense would blame the crime committed by Nazi, which has been leaded by Hitler. As a smart governor, Hitler fluently used his leadership to capture others' confidence and trust. Blind trust of Hitler's solders considered any orders form Hitler as truths and thus lost their basic ability of judgment. Thousands of Millions of people were ruined only because of the intense loyalty.

In conclusion, appropriate loyalty serves as a virtue since it enhances the relationship between persons and improves the efficiency of workers; by contrast too much loyalty leads to blind minds and underlies the soil of disaster. Smart person can fully understand the truth of loyalty and apply it with justice.
