对历史的研究把太多的重点放在对某些个人上。而历史上一些重大的事件和发展趋势不是由个别名人决定的，而是由那些已经被人们淡忘的社会群体所创造的。
Position: disagree.
0.       The speaker claims that significant historical events and trends are made possible by group of people rather individuals, and that the study of history should emphasize the former instead of the latter. I tend to disagree with both aspects of this claim. As far as I concerned, I claim that both
1.       名人很重要，admittedly, 历史研究确实过于关注个人，翻开历史书籍可以看到许多名人的传记。人们也常常将一些成功归功于个人。这样也有一定的好外，为人们树立榜样，鼓舞人心。
2.       普通人也很重要，历史上有意义的事件和潮流都是因为一部分普通人，那些少数名人只是代表。从历史上事件来看，如果没有广泛的群众基础，革命不可能成功。从现代改革来看，虽然是有个人来发起的，但没有群众的支持就不能成功。
3.       不能过分的强调名人的作用。由其是现代社会，因为过分关注个人容易灌输英雄主义的思想。
4.       conclusion, To sum up, both the common people and the famous figurers are very important in the study of history and only through the research work base on these two groups can historian to get complete information of the history.

The speaker claims that significant historical events and trends are made possible by groups of people rather than individuals, and that the study of history should emphasize the former instead of the latter. I tend to disagree with the speaker. As far as I concerned, I advocated that both of the famous people and the common people are critical to our society.

To begin with, the famous people are important because they always representative of groups of people who decide the trends and involve in the event. Indeed the history overemphasize on individual, while opening our history books, we can see the biography of some famous people in the front pages. We often attribute the success of our society to those who are famous. For example, Washington was famous and long remembered because he represent the progress of American people who wanted to get rid of the rule by English colonists. Similarly, the stories of Lincon are stressed in the history study because he was behalf on the righteous people who want to eliminate the lagged slave system. Therefore, these people are the example of us and can inspire us to try our best to do everything.

However, no one can deny the crucial roles of the public in the evolution of human civilization. It is the effort of a large number of common people that make it possible for those famous people to achieve the significant change in the progress of human's society. For example, most revolutions which aimed at overthrow the old government or obsolescent the institutions, though modern people always remember the famous leaders of it. Without those common people devote their lives to the revolutions, there is nothing success to say. So, the common people attending in the revolutions will make the famous leader to fulfill the goal.

Moreover, we should not place too much emphasis on the famous people. The overemphasizing of the famous people may have adverse effect on the study of the history. For one thing, especially in the contemporary society, place too much emphasis on famous make lead the heroism which may harm our society. For example, the one of the greatest leader Stalin of the Soviet Union, because of his heroism cause serious effect on the development of the Soviet Union. Thus, we should make our best to prevent the heroism.


To sum up, from the discussed above, both of the common people and the famous figurers are very important to our study of history and only through the research work base on these two groups can historian to get complete information of the history.
