1. 让步开头,不赞同
2. 全球性大学可以给人们提供一个认识不同社会问题的途径,比如普林斯顿大学的“媒体在报道恐怖主义问题上的作用”课程 (+)

At the first glance, the assertion thatestablishes a globe university supported by all nations in respect of solvingthe most persistent social problems seems available. But after explored indepth, this plan probably would not be viable.
A global university stimulates every nationto communicate the variety culture, civilization and race with each other well.In this case, people get access to realize the most difficult social problemsand find out an essential method of these matters. A simple example can illustratethis assertion. Princeton University, one of themost excellence colleges in worldwide, set up a curriculum to discuss thefunction media plays in terrorism all over the world in spring of 2003. Thiscourse mainly provides discussion on the matter “9.11” and give comment on such reports how to affectthe policy of American government and international society. In this way,students can know foreign culture, race and countries profoundly. Undoubtedly,professions and students can work out society issues in the most efficientways.
However, a common curriculum, note above,that is also an exclusive one would pose certain society problems. Admittedly,what are the most persistent society problems is difficult to definite.Different countries face different matters, so it is a staggering task tobalance the need of all nations. Nowadays, developing countries, such as China,suffer from the destroying of environment; in this case, they expect universitycan give them advice to balance the nature resource exploration and economicprogression. Mean while, developed countries, such as Japan, face the depressioneconomic; so they need university to take vigorous to do research of economicproblems and they must wholeheartedly support the economic project. Thus, studentsand professions come from different nations will hold different opinions withwhat should they do. In a word, it is ambiguous to determine what the mostimportant task is and whose authority is enough to lead researchers andstudents to solve the most persistent social problems.
Granted that the research tasks can bechosen smoothly and society problems can be resolved successfully, anotherproblem is the result of the research projects possibly can’t be applied toreality society problems, especially relevant to political issues. Students inuniversity are aimless to obtain more knowledge and learn to analysis complexmatters; at the same time, seldom ones have capability solve these persistentsociety problems, such as racialism, terrorism, religionary conflict, whichinvolved too many nations and the fight of political. Obviously, studentshardly can deal these matters.
To draw a conclusion, a global universitycan work out solutions to economic and environment problems but for thoseintricate issues of society as people expect. Alternatively, to encourage theresearch on social matters by university independently and to promote thecommunication between these colleges will be more appropriate. |
