TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."
1.兴趣是学生学习的动力
2.学校资源有限
3.过分满足学生的兴趣不会有好的效果
The speaker asserts that education will be effective only when it is designed to meet every student's needs and interests. I agree with the assertion that the designing of education should be based on the needs and interests of each student. But the speaker overlooks the facts that educational resources is limited and if people design education totally according students' interests it may bring unpleasant results.
The individual needs and interests should be taken into account by the educational system. Because interest provides people the power to study. People with a willing are more likely to study well than people who are compelled to learn. It will lead one to study more diligently. Without such will, students can hardly pay all their attentions to the learning. Then education is not able to serve as important function as it is planed to meet the interests of each student. Also, students at school are from different places. Their intelligence and comprehension are not the same. A unique education can not meet everyone's needs. So the individual interests should be considered in education.
But the educational resources are limited. It is not allowed every school to meet all the students’ needs. The funds of schools are mainly from government. However, education is not the whole job of a government. What it really considers is the entire nation. Even at schools, mostly in universities, the funds are not only used for education. Research plays an important part as well. So the majority of schools do not have enough money to carry out such action.
Even if a school can have enough finances to meet the needs of every student, totally designed education bases on students' interests is also unlikely to bring about a satisfying results. The purpose of education is not only to train the special skills of students, but also to bring some basic abilities to them. Students may be not cautious about subjects which they do not interest. Thus they may be not qualified enough to enter the society. Ideologies of students are immature. They do not think questions like adults. They are not able to realize whether their actions are right. Therefore, in some aspects, a unique education is necessary.
In conclusion, education which designed to meet the individual needs and interests of every student may be beneficial for them. But considered the real fact of the lack of funds and society needed, it is not feasible now to do like that. Education totally depends on one's interests might also bring unsatisfied results
