History, which happened in the past and still has important effect nowadays in our life, is an important study that we are concerned. Now there is controversy that which is more important in history, the famous few or the ordinary majority? In my view, the famous people and the ordinary people are two important part of history study, they should both place some parts in history books.
First, we can't deny the significant roles that the famous people played in the history. The famous people are the leader of many movements in the history. They are well educated, have courage and they have the ability to lead people. Without them, maybe the history will change or delay. We can image that if Lincoln is not the president of the USA, the liberation of black people would be possibly much later. It is Deng Xiaoping who lead China’s economical reform that let people in China become rich and can live a happy life. Without him, China will still stop in the dark period of planned economics. So the famous people are the ones who lead others to achieve the goals in history.
Meanwhile, the ordinary majority also play an important part in the history. They join every activity in the history. They are the chief power in the history. It is the ordinary majority that helps famous people to achieve every important step in history. Without the fighting of the great soldiers, Washington and Tomas Jackson could not let the United State become independent from Britain. Without the support and the efforts of the just people all over the world, we could never win the great fight with Nazi. So we can't forget the big sacrifice and the great contribution the ordinary people made in the history.
Admittedly, nowadays the history books place too little for the ordinary majority. So that many student will make the mistake that it is just individuals that make the history and change our life. We should take more account of ordinary people in history education and history books. It is our duty to let people know the whole pictures of history.
To conclude, famous people and the ordinary majority are just like the two sides of every coin, they both play the important part and decide the trends of history. We should take into account both of them when we write history books. I think it is the best way to let us step out of the dilemma and show the real history to all the people who live in the modern society.
