1.Admittedly, scandals sometimes expose the private information and bring troubles to some people.
2.Scandal can make matured personalities for individual and reformation for the society.
3. the exposure of scandal could also avoid hefty losses.

The speaker asserts that scandals focus our attention on problems in ways that other people ever could, and would be useful, no matter in politics, academia, or other areas. I fundamentally agree with this assertion. Although disgraced scandals some times disclose some privacy and bring troubles to people, when we comprehensive consider it, we would found the benefits are overweight than the flaws.

Admittedly, scandals sometimes expose the private information and bring troubles to some people. One of the most common examples is the celebrities, especially the famous singer stars or movie stars. In the television or newspaper, they always complain that their personal life have been disrupted by these journalists or photographers. Another example trouble a large amount of people is the scandal of Enron, which result in the bankruptcy of this huge energy company. In this case, money people lost their jobs and hefty portion of the retirement savings invested in Enron stock. Generally speaking, scandals would usually carry some troubles to people who involved in, both mentally and economically.  

However, more often than not, scandals could focus people's attention on the problems that the speakers and reformers could not, and promote the process of reformation, which could resulted in a matured personalities for individual and flawless system for society. One of the biggest scandal in the scientific realm last year is the case of Chen Jin, who used the fake computer chips  supplied millions dollar’s fund. After the disclosure of this deception, the Chinese Nature Research Fund Organization and other research related organizations and departments enact a series of rules on how to avoid similar flaws. For individuals, all the researchers in China, after this case, known that they would pay a big price if they done similar deception. Accordingly, it is just this case that promotes the honest character for all researchers, and also it is this case that makes the reformation which will avoid more and much huge deception in the scientific realm in the future. From this point of view, the scandal here plays significant positive roles for both the individual and the society.

Moreover, the exposure of scandal could also avoid hefty losses. The earlier disclosure of the scandal, the heftier loss would avoid. If the false reported profits was found four or five year’s earlier before the exposure of Enron’s case, then this huge company would not result in bankruptcy, at least would not so quick. If Chen Jin’s cheating behavior was discovered a year or two year earlier, then the organization would not devote such large amount of money in Chen Jin’s research group.

To sum up, scandal is a two-edge sword, which have important role in the developing process for both personal characters and sociological structure. Although it can disclose personal privacy and carry troubles to some people, generally to say, the benefits of scandals are overweight than the drawbacks. Therefore, we need to make good use of them, especially on these areas that speaker and reformer could not easily find out, but strongly related to the people’s benefits.
