艺术作品太多，人们可以通过优秀的评论家帮助筛选，最终使有价值的艺术作品得以流传，不优的淘汰。
优秀的评论家的评论可以促进艺术家更好的创作。
3.让步。虽然有些评论家被利益集团控制不能做出客观公正的评论，但大多数还是好的。
他们对艺术作品的流传做出了巨大贡献。

Who gives something of lasting value to society? The speaker claims that it is the artist rather than the critic that dedicates society something of lasting value. From my perspective, it is true that artist does contribute a lot to the society by creating a multitude of productions in every area; however, critic is also inevitable to the development of society by interpreting and filtering the works, which is of great importance to the communication of artist's works.

Admittedly, it is artist, not anybody else, who creates the refulgent art and culture to society. There is no doubt that no art is produced by critics but by artists in all ages. For example, it is Mozart who composed a large number of splendid melodies, it is Jane Austen who wrote the valuable novel the pride and prejudice, it is Picasso who created the precious paintings. These artworks truly give society something of eternal values in that they not only influence the people living at that time but also appreciated by the modern people of the 21 century.

However, on the other hand, critic also gives significant contribution to the everlasting value of society, which is neglected by the speaker. First, a critic can interpret art through his or her long-term research and profound comprehension to the particular artist as well as his or her creation, which helps the layperson to understand this art well. For example, the most poems are obscure for common people. Rarely can they be accepted and appreciated by people without the introduction of critics. Secondly, the evaluation of artwork from critics serves as a filter, which helps people to determine which art is worth out time and attention. There are hundreds of artworks show up every single day, therefore no one have the time and interests to justice all of them. Critics help people out of the corner by sorting out the finer creations and bring it forward. Thirdly, through receiving feedback from critics, artists can better know what advantage and disadvantage he or she has. Especially the construction criticism and advice from the professional critics will accelerate the artist upgrade.

In addition, although it is a fact that a few critics are controlled by special-interests groups so that their evaluation and introduction are to some extent unfair and subjective; it seems that the majority of critics are just and objective. Therefore, the merits of critics should not be overshadowed by the minor few.

All in all, in my point of view, without the contribution of artist, there will be no art in the world; without the effort of critic, rarely can art spread among groups of people. Therefore, critic also presents something of everlasting value to the society, as well as artist does.

我觉得第三个论点有些画蛇添足 前两个论点已经构成了一个平衡观点 所以可以在开头结为说明自己对艺术和批评持平衡态度就好了 我觉得是这样 要不那段空空的不好…………:)

lz......这个题目的另一个KW似乎是"lasting value"......如果只提到artist vs critics是不是不够全面呢?......我也想知道哎~~

应该不算不全面的。
关于这个lasting value，好像发挥不出什么东西来写。只能跟artist vs critics联系起来写~
范文里也没有。
不过最好是要点一下哦~
