I strongly agree with the speaker' assertion. Admittedly, it is very important to educational systems to emphasize the development of students' capacity for reasoning and logical thinking. Also, in most cases, the development of students' capacity often needs great emotions--which I think it includes the all kinds of feeling--happiness, sadness, and so forth--and the virtue such as honesty, equality, objectiveness and the like.

To begin with, anyone cannot overlook the importance of capacity for reasoning and logical thinking. Not only in our daily time, but also in many scientific territories, the profits provided by such capacity are always clearly found. First, in our daily time, it is not almost any decision or action or idea that comes out without such capacity. For example, we would take a raincoat when we know it will rain or we find it rains.  Obviously, there is a simple decision taking a raincoat for the reason that we know it will rain or we find it rains. Here, we use the capacity for reasoning and logical thinking--a raincoat can be used because it can protect us from raining, and we should take something to avoid raining for it rains. Second, in the scientific realms, the capacity for reasoning and logical thinking is more easily found. Any theory would be established with some basic and fundamental principle or phenomenon. Here the capacity for reasoning and logical thinking is as a bridge to make the principle to the theory. Take a chemical theory-oxidize theory--as an example. The theory is basis on one fundamental principle that material is constant, and any material will not appear or disappear unless it transmutes or is transmuted to other forms and some phenomenon that when something burns the air loses something--now we know it is O2.
So, people give such an assumption that such material supports burning. In such process, reasoning and logical thinking is used--because the material cannot disappear itself, the losing material in air must transmute to something else and so such material supports burning.

However, even we should not emphasize the development of students' such capacity, should we not underplay the importance of emotions-which also need to be taught to explore. Similarly, we take example from our daily time and the scientific territory. Consider on the one hand our daily time. As mentioned, that a raincoat can be choose for such a rainy day, it is our most and frequently possible choose. But when some special cases occur in our emotions, it may not. Often we can see from the TV that when a boy or girl loses his or her lover, any protective method would not be chose in that he or she is so crying. In such time, the emotion overcomes the reasoning and logical thinking.  On the other hand, in the scientific territory, also emotion is indispensable. May someone argue that in science what we need is to do research according to the fact and not bring the volition of ourselves to such territory. But he overlooks that such attitude to research according to the fact and not bring the volition of ourselves is also some emotion--objectiveness. In short, emotions play such a important role that we should be blind to them.

In sum, our educational systems should not only emphasize the development of student' capacity for reasoning and logical thinking, but also exploring their own emotions.
