------题目------
The following appeared as part of an article in a health and beauty magazine.
'A group of volunteers participated in a study of consumer responses to the new Luxess face cream. Every morning for a month, they washed their faces with mild soap and then applied Luxess. At the end of that month, most volunteers reported a marked improvement in the way their skin looked and felt. Thus it appears that Luxess is truly effective in improving the condition of facial skin.'

This argument is well-present, but the evidence, only a survey, to provide it is irrational. So I do not agree with the speaker, as discussed below.
The survey provided has many problems to be doubtful. To begin with, how many and what kinds of volunteers join in the study? Are they many enough to stand for all kinds of people? And what kinds of people are they? All old? Or all young? Or some else? If the volunteers are with the same problem of facial skin, even the Luxess is effective, it only can illustrate that Luxess is effective to one kinds of facial problem. Besides this, it means nothing.
Besides, who carry out the survey? what is its motive? Whether is the survey made by producer or seller of Luxess only for advertising the product or not? If the study is under such bad motive, still can the result be believed?
Moreover, is the method scientific? Are the researchers of experience? What kinds of face cream do the volunteers use before the study? Can the researcher make sure that these faces cream will not affect the study? Why does the researcher let the volunteers wash their faces with mild soap and then applied Luxess? Does mild soap have any affection? Or why does the researcher not have another group of volunteers as controller? The study provide no evidence to answer the questions,
Further more, in the month of study, are there other factors to affect the results? Do the volunteers use other kinds of things to improve their face condition? Or are the diets they eat good at improving such condition?
Through the survey, the answer of any question cannot be found, and so how can we lend our belief to the conclusion basis on such a survey?
In sum, if the speaker wants to bolster the argument, he should provide evidence to rule out any possibility and provide direct and relative details to make his argument rational.
