我有意在国内读完研究生申请美国金融phd，背景如下，大侠们在拿到offer高兴之余，指导一下后进，谢谢了

211学校本科数学系，正准备在原校读金融研究生
本科：专业GPA大概是96/100 排名1/120
有一些获奖如下（不知道对申请是否有帮助，请高人指点下）：
国家数模二等奖，省一等奖
美国数模二等奖
其余还有一些校内的小奖
无paper（没信心在研究生阶段能写一篇牛paper^-^）
还没考tofel，gmat
要是我能把tofel，gmat考一高些，有没有可能申到top20呢？
或者50以内呢？
（因为家庭不富裕，故原则上只关注全奖）

谢谢，我真是不知道这样的背景能申请个什么样的学校(通常情况，我知道谁都不能给个明确的说法，只是想给自己定定位，高手勿笑啊，呵呵)，请大家给我点意见吧

金融的phd全奖很难，top的就更难，美国的金融phd每年每个学校就招很少那么几个人，国内直接过去很相当不容易

I think this guy is makeing fun of us. If he is really like that, I believe he can get enough information from his professors and classmates.

top 20很玄，top50或者欧洲的学校可能还有点希望，看造化了～
建议申经济学，一样可以研究financial economics

Hi

As far as I am concerned, I will not suggest you to finish your master in China.

1, apply for 10-20 master probrams iin econ or finace in US or Canada first, and pick the best one among those give you partial or full finacial aid.
2. then apply phd

reason:
1, Master in China spends you 3 years, while master in us/ca last only 1-2 years
2, Your courses will match the PHD programs much better if you study in US/Ca. Besides, In China, you have to prepare several courses useless and the meaningful entrance exam. But even you go to a phd, you still need GMAT/GRE, so you can finish them now.
3, Generally, your recommendation letter will be more effective.
4, In China, you have to pay your master tuition, but in Ca/US, your background is good enough to get some money, and you can even give your parents a lot of RMB every year now.

对，在欧美以外读的硕士老美基本都不怎么感冒。而且你本科毕业的学校很重要，他们只care北清中复浙两南
定位不要太高，感觉大家刚开始都一样，都觉得自己牛逼得不行。不要老想着top20，对大多数人来说，top50就已经很不错了。当然，自费的硕士可能容易点。
你的数学背景不错，但是这种背景的人北清中复浙有一堆。至于211，满大街都是211和985。
