You’re chopping vegetables at the kitchen and the knives (knife) slips.Suddenly blood is dripping from a gush in (from gushing off) your hand. You search forantibacterial (antibiotical) ointment, but don’t have any.  But maybe something in thekitchen covered(这里听不清,貌似不是covered,是个以b结尾的音): honey. Scientists recently published a review of honeyin an international journal of Clinic Practice. They examined 18studies from the past 60 (我听到是40 years)years and found overwhelming evidence thathoney can help speed up healing and prevent infection. Actually honeyhas been used for (to) treat wounds over thousands of years, but soughtfavor (fell out their favorite ) in (the) 1940s when biotechnology (antibiotic) came into (onto) scene. Today though peopleare worrying (worried) about antibio resistance (这里听不清,我的是 antibiotical system,汗!貌似逻辑不对)and are also looking to naturalremedies. Honey works because numbers of properties that help (inhibit) bacteria grows (growth). There are low (exists no) moisture content and the glucose honey concealspread into air that naturally form hydrogen peroxide that separatesagent.(这段听了N遍也没听明白,LZ强的) Scientists say the researches suggested honey may (might) be particular (particularly)useful when the wound become (becomes) infected or feel closer heal lacy surgery (or fails to close or heal after surgery).Honey was even shown traduce (to redue) anticipation rates among diabetes patientssuffering from open and infected source (最后一句也是只听懂了几个单词)

那两句难的又听了一遍,好像是:
There exists low moiture and that's the gluecose honey breaks down in the air and naturally forms hydrogen peroxide, an antiseptic agent.

最后一句,大家都写出来了:
Honey is even shown to reduce amputation rates among diabetes patients suffering from open and infective source.

This is scientific american sixty second science, I'm chossy Wald. Got a minute.

Your wait is over, comet-at-home is back. Oh, you've never heard of it. Well, that's actually not surprising since until recently you need a big telescope to see it. But on October 24th, it's suddenly brightened, you can see it with your naked eye. Just look up at the consterlation --- purseus. Comet-at-home is a yellow fuzzball that is not on any star charts. The comet was also having at our birth when sky watcher Edwood Home first spotted it in 1892. But scientists say it should be more dussle than mass, since it's small and doesn't fly as close to the Sun as say the harry's comet. So what happened? If the comet's surface cracked, the sun could have vaporized newly explosive ice, liberating dust and gas. And this comet, yellow globe comes from the sunlight reflecting oilf and dust. Now some sky watchers are reporting a tail growing on the comet-at-home though its orientation means it looks estably from the earth.Even so, this (upsturb) snowball is exceeding all expectations.

Thanks for the minute for science american 60 second science. I'm Charles Wald.

参考楼上的,做了些修改
1.   comet Ed-holmes
2.    constellation
3.    perseus
4.    an outburst
5.    Edwin Holmes
6.    dazzle than this??? 感觉不是dazzle, 好像是s的尾音,但是意思比较像
7.    Halley's comet
8.    exposed
9.    reflecting off that dust
10.   yellow glow
11   ??? 是stabile吗?
12.    upstart 不知道在这里什么意思?

还有个逻辑问题
But scientists say it should be more dazzle than this, since it’s small and doesn’t fly as close to the Sun as say Halley's comet.
为什么离太阳远就更加耀眼?

10.5 Sheer Luck Holmes A Bright Comet

Your wait is over, Comet Holmes is back. Oh, you never heard of it? Well it actually is not surprising, since until recently you need a big telescope to see it. But on October 24th, it is suddenly brightened. Now you can see it with your naked eyes.  Just look at the constellation of Perseus. Comet Holmes is a yellow fuzzing ball that is not on any star chart. The Comet was also hit another burst when sky watcher Edwin Holmes first spotted it in1892. But scientists said it should be more dazzle than this. Since it is small, and does not fly as close to the sun as say Halley Comet, so what happened? If the comet surface cracked, the sun could have evaporated newly exposed ice, liberating dust and ice, and this comet yellow glow comes from the sun reflecting of the dust. Now some sky watchers are reporting a tail growing on Comet Holmes. Though its orientation means it looks stubby from the earth. Even so, this upstart snow ball is exceeding all expectations.

S.J. said that every species’ designation represents a theory about that organism. The species’ assignment is more than their mere naming, it’s a classification of the organism within the context of all other creeping, crawling, clinging, and covelting ?life on earth. So, once a scientist names the species, the way that organism fits into the web of life is also announced. Close relatives in the same genes more distinct once in the class and so on. Almost 300 years ago, before there was even a good theory of evolution, C.L. invented the modern species classification system. And this week events takes place that even rarier than the discovery of new species. L’s own annotated copy of his book Systema Naturae will be on public display November 6 at the Harvard museum of the natural history in Cambridge Massachusetts, and November 8-10 at the NY Botanical garden in the Bronx. The book was published in 1735 and introduced the genus specie system that is still in use by we homo sapiens.

好累啊。。

This is scientific American sixty second science, I'm Steve Mirsky. Got a minute?
Steven J Goold said that every species designation represents a theory about that organism. The species assignment is more than mere in naming, but it's a classification of the organism within the context of all the other cripping, crawling, clining and (convolting) life on earth. So once a scientist names a species, a way that organism fits into the web of the life is also announced. Close relatives in the same genus indicate they were once in the same class and so on. Almost 300 hundred years ago, before there was a good theory of evolution, Carllon Lelairs invented the modern species classification system. And this week an event takes place that is even  rarer than the discovery of a new species. Lelairs' own annotated copier of his book Stem Natural Eye will be on public display November 6th at the Harvard museum ... history ... Cambridge ..and November eighth to tenth at the XXX garden Newyork in the Brance. The book was published in 1735 and introduced genius species system that is still in use by we homosapiens.

taxonomic nomenclature

binomial nomenclature (Linnaean system) System of categorizing organisms by giving them a two-part Latin name. The first part of the name is the genus and the second part, the species. For example, Homo sapiens is the binomial name for humans. The system was developed by the Swedish botanist Carolus Linnaeus in the 18th century.

taxonomy Organization of plants, animals, and other organisms into categories based on similarities of genetic sequences, appearance, structure or evolution. The categories, from the most inclusive to the exclusive, are: kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, species (the last two of which appear in italics), and sometimes variety. In some categories, there are also subphyla, subfamilies, and so on. Ancient and extinct animals and plants are included in detailed classifications.
